  • Pinetree Capital: Investing in an Investor - Seldom a week passes without news of another investment by Pinetree Capital Ltd. (TSX:PNP) in an emerging resource or technology company. • Healing Your DNA - What's in Your Genes? - The main message of The Secret is "when your thoughts and emotions are aligned you can manifest your heart's desire." This is true, and for most of us, it is doable to change our thoughts.
  • How is Oil Formed - Crude Oil is Solar Power - Oil and Natural gas are among the most valuable and sought after natural resources being used today. Crude Oil is the organic compound harvested from the Earth that is used to make all forms of petroleum products. Refineries convert most crude oil into energy producing compounds such as gasoline, diesel fuel, liquefied petroleum gas, jet fuel, and heating gases such as propane.
  • Cleaning Up Kuwait Oil Fields - At the outset of the Gulf War in 1991, Iraq's generals gave orders to demolish Kuwait's oil production facilities and wells to insure the coalition forces would recapture nothing of value. The ensuing scorched earth tactics led to the destruction of over 85% of Kuwaiti oil wells. Serious fires erupted in over 600 of the 700 wells that were blown up sending up toxic clouds of smoke. Oil flowed at uncontrolled rates. Enormous lakes of oil covering 100's of square kilometers formed in the flat desert. Another hope was that the massive flames and smoke would prevent coalition forces from operating; however it had very little impact on the advancing troops. The efforts to control fires and well blow outs lasted nearly 9 months.
  • Drilling in Ultra-deep Water - As the major terrestrial oil fields near retirement, there is an ever increasing drive to bring deep sea oil fields to production. The Gulf of Mexico is thought to contain the largest untapped oil reserves in the world. Based on current findings, some estimates by the Department of the Interior Mineral Management Services number reserves at over 100 billion barrels. Finding oil in deep water is one thing, but extracting it from these undersea reservoirs is an entirely different challenge.
  • The Oil Change - You are on your way home late at night and you notice the check engine light is on. What could be the problem? It dawns on you that it has been quite a while since you last checked or changed the oil. Here's why you should stop immediately and check it out instead of waiting till morning. The oil in your car lubricates the engine parts, reducing friction and heat. It coats all the metal parts in the engine which reduces engine corrosion or oxidization. The oil must also hold all the by-products of combustion in suspension.
  • Cellular Blinds, the Toyota Prius of Window Blinds - This article is for all those people who are concerned about global warming and want to make their home as energy efficient as possible. Cellular shades, also know as honeycomb shades, are an easy and relatively affordable way to lower your heating and cooling costs. This is good for you and the planet. More and more people are doing what they can by purchasing more energy efficient cars, replacing incandescent light bulbs with long-lasting florescent bulbs, adding solar panels and much more. With the cost of energy so high these days, especially home heating oil, you may want to look into cellular shades. These shades, also called honeycomb shades have internal honeycomb-like cells that trap air. These cells are what make cell shades so energy efficient and, therefore, earth friendly.
  • Making Change Permanent - Starting to make healthier lifestyle changes is not as hard as it seems. Many people created New Years goals this year to help them get in shape, lose weight, or eat better. The hard part for most is sticking to those goals once they have started. Life gets busy, we lose energy, or we do not immediately see the results we desire. On the other hand, there are some who hang in there and are extremely successful.
  • Harness Your Energy with Breath Control - You probably already know that the brain has two hemispheres, the right and left, and that the left side of the brain generally controls the right side of the body and vice versa.
  • Time To Tighten The Belts: Part 1 - Conserving Energy in The Home - We are all looking at the news and even the most optimistic of us are realizing that things may change for a while. We've been here before, we've seen the rising prices, the unemployment and the foreclosures - but for many of us the problem becomes more individualized. What can we do to preserve ourselves; to keep the roof over our own heads? Home energy costs are a large monthly outlay for all of us at this time of year. Americans spend more than $160 billion a year to heat, cool, light, and live in our homes.
  • Time To Tightening The Belt: Pt.2 - Saving Appliance Energy - Part 2 Appliances. When crude oil finally hit the $100.00 per barrel mark, we all groaned inwardly knowing that the price will just be passed onto us. Never mind our environmental conscience, now we have to try and cut down just because of our wallets! The Labor Department has also released figures showing that unemployment benefits are at the highest level for two years.
  • KFG Resources Prepares for Seismic to Redevelop Salt Dome - In Mississippi, just a few kilometres from the town of Natchez, KFG Resources (TSX.V: KFG) is about to try something that CEO Bob Kadane believes will create significant value for his company's shareholders. Buried beneath the Fayette field is the Fayette salt dome - the last hydrocarbon-bearing salt dome of its kind in the region that has not been redeveloped. Other items that have been marketed in the past that are similar in concept include magnetic bracelets and necklaces, copper bracelets, and other various types of gemstones that are designed to decrease pain experienced by the wearer. Unlike these, however, the q-link utilizes electromagnetic resonance pulsations to protect the individual wearing it. In addition, while these items are designed to relieve pain in one certain area of the body, the q-link pendant is designed to increase an individual's overall energy, health, and well-being. The q-link pendant is designed with an amazing technology. It contains a single cell the size of a watch battery, as well as an amplifying coil.

Of course, this is a small drop in percentage.
  • Throwing A Little Light On Compact Bulbs - Good for the Maryland Public Service Commission for giving 250,000 Maryland residents two free CFLs each to test out this new bulb. Not all compact light bulbs are equal, and most of us know nothing about them - so here's a little information to help when choosing CFLs. If you are a green-minded person, then by buying the Energy Star label, you will be buying a bulb that has been tested to meet operating, reliability and energy efficiency criteria. CFLs are more expensive than an incandescent, but considering that CFLs last about 8 times as long as an incandescent, that actually represents a lot of savings.
