For most, marriage is a pinnacle milestone in their life. Finding that special someone to love" till death do you part" and sharing a life with them. It seems like your life will never slow down.
The honeymoon stage, marital bliss and newlyweds are all words to describe you and your first year of marriage. While the words conjure up images of simplicity, passion and possibly choirs singing in the background, the truth about the first year of marriage comes as quite a shock to many "lovebirds." According to information collected by the US Census Bureau, the median age of a woman at their first divorce is 29, for men it is 30.5. The Bureau also reports that the average number of years a marriage lasts in the United States is 7.8.
Often the green monster known as jealousy, rears its ugly head and forces its way into your relationship. As unwelcome as it may be, jealousy is a problem that most couples deal with from time to time. But, it should not consume your relationship or become a point of stress. Most of the time, issues with jealousy can be resolved. Ask these questions.
Conflicts in a marriage affect more than just a husband and wife, especially if children are at home. No matter how hushed you try to make your arguments, or how hard you try to act like nothing is wrong, it is always surprising just how perceptive kids can be.
