In Deuteronomy 8:18, God told the people through Moses, that He had given them the power to obtain wealth so that He could establish the Abrahamic covenant with them just as He had with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We show only sixteen of them here and healing is including in this list. See the faith building paragraphs below. There are many great healing scriptures. Sometimes, however, you run across one that you have not seen before. Or if you have seen it, God simply has not yet quickened it (made it come alive) for you. Then he quickens it for you and you see complete new revelations in it that you have never seen before. Isaiah reveals one of these hidden, healing Scriptures to us. Thirteen times, in the book of Hebrews, the author uses an edifying, faith building Greek device. This device usually begins with the expression "let us." I call it simply a "let us exhortation." Deut 8:18 18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. (KJV) There are three simple verses in Proverbs which go "against the grain" as far as this worlds economic system is concerned. We must heed these three simple verses and act on them if we want to amass wealth on an Abrahamic scale. Notice how God creates reality through faith. In Genesis he performed a miracle for Abraham. He made a statement that was humanly impossible but God made it so.
Gen 15:5-6
5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. (KJV) God did not create us and then leave us to ourselves. He is very much interested in what happens to his children, the Abrahamic Seed Group.
His interest in us caused Him to promise us healing, prosperity, family well being and salvation in the covenant He made with Abraham. (Gentile Christians are grafted into these Abrahamic blessing promises right along with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Israel.) The following Scriptures describe the condition of us Gentiles before we received Jesus as our Savior. They also describe what supernaturally happened to us immediately upon receiving Him as our Savior.
But there's more in these verses. As a matter of fact, these are some of the most meaningful Scriptures we have.
There are too many Scriptures to cite here which show that we can pray in faith for our family. Over and over again, we are told that it will go well with our children. These many Scriptures demonstrate the great fact that our families are included in the promises from God to Abraham. There are promises of healing throughout the Bible. There are also practical steps to obtain our healing. Three of these practical steps are found in the following scripture. The Scriptures contain many commandments with a promise attached for The Abrahamic Seed Group. These promises are fulfilled for us when and if we perform the commandment. Here's a case in point where a commandment with promise was given to The Abrahamic Seed Group. Some in the church in Galatia were peddling a doctrine of salvation by works. Paul asks and answers three bombshell questions of those Galatians who were trying to peddle this doctrine. These three questions and their answers stopped their salvation by works message in its tracks.
You remember, of course, that Paul believed that Jesus' blood took care of the sin problem for the human race.
Now here are his three dynamite questions and their obvious answers. Look closely at the words "griefs" and "sorrows" in Isaiah's prophecy below. Scholarship demands that both these words should have been rendered by our English words "sicknesses" and "pains."
Isa 53:4
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. (KJV) As you delve more and more into the Book of Hebrews, you will become aware of something you have never seen before: namely, the author of Hebrews is more emphatic than any other Bible writer about one major theme; God wrote all the Old Testament Scriptures. Thank God that our level of power or holiness has nothing to do with our ability to get our selves or our loved ones healed. Take the case of Peter.
In Acts 3, he used the name of Jesus to get the man lying at the Temple Gate healed. In so doing, he declared that his (Peter's) level of power or holiness had nothing to do with the healing of this helpless man. The entire context of Acts 3 and 4 is the healing of the lame man at the Temple Gate. This is the occasion of Peter's declaration that his level of power or holiness had nothing to do with it.
His actions, however, demonstrated that using Jesus' name for healing had everything to do with the healing of this helpless man. One of the common claims by young earth creationists is that if Noah's Flood were a local flood, then God has broken his promise many times. According to The Answers Book, chapter 10,
"If the Flood were local, God would have repeatedly broken His promise never to send such a Flood again. There have been huge 'local' floods in recent times: in Bangladesh, for example, where 80 per cent of that country has been inundated, or Europe in 2002."(Footnote 1) The Scripture below is very special to all of us. We are aware that God heals our bodies. We also need to be aware the He heals our broken hearts.
Ps 147:3
3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. (KJV)
He not only heals our broken heart, he binds up our wounds. Think back over your life. How many heart wounds we have all had? But thank God that he comes through with a healing for our hearts so we can carry on for him and our families. Here is a Scripture that will build your faith to a fever pitch. Actually this is my wife Corky's favorite Scripture. She signs her name with this reference on every letter she writes.
She is very active in ministry. Over the years, she has answered so much mail. She has sent out thousands of letters. And all of them are signed with "In His Palms." Now see this powerful Scripture.
