Bacteria and other microorganisms cause food poisoning. There is no way to prevent food poisoning after ingestion of contaminated food. The key is to avoid eating such foods. The best food poisoning treatment is to let it run its course. The body has two ways to get rid of contaminated food: diarrhea and vomiting. Vomiting does not prevent food poisoning.
