Well it might be wise to start this column off by stating that it comes with a bias. I love the Atlantic Ocean and I would not move away from it in a million years. My bias comes from the first 22 years of my life living on the beaches of Santa Barbara over on the west coast.
Atlantic City has, at best, been the playground of America, but never really the luxury capital. However, with the recent additions of luxury outlets at the Borgata, Taj and the Bally's, the trend is clearly changing. Atlantic City's splendid casinos and the recent trend of growing luxury outlets has not prevented it from seeing a slowdown in revenues and a threatening decline in its economy.
