There are many industries that survive entirely on the fact that we humans not only want things in our life to perform well we want them to look great as well. And that is not just limited to products it is also applicable to people whether as individuals or as a functionary of a business. Therefore we have pretty air hostesses, affable waiters and waitresses and so on. And if you take time to consider what makes a certain trip or product extra special to you it will likely be because something or someone goes that extra mile and makes performing the task at hand seems effortless and fills it with grace.

One often see advertisements of products that need to last for a while asserting how durable the product is and how you as a buyer can be sure that you will be able to use the product for a long time. But a consumer only wants a product to last for long if it is delivering a great performance in the first place. Otherwise if the performance is not good, durability is of no use because the consumer will have to look for a replacement even before the product has finished its life time.

Human societies no longer really choose to know what they want to know in great detail. We are fed by the media and largely accept their judgment on what we need to know. Of course we have our favorite topics but within them unless we are a researcher or an academic we often let others decide what we should know. Which actually is fair enough because there is so much information out there now that if we had to decide for ourselves we would have had to trawl through headline after headline possibly leaving us with not time to read the full story in any case. So we choose to go with the judgment of a media entity we trust and leave it at that.

If you have seen the faces of athletics champions in say the Olympics after they have won the medal they all look very nice. They look confident and overjoyed and the photographs are considered historic and are splashed across the front page of news papers the world over. If you were to however compare the physical features of these athletes with those of professional models you will realize the athletes look quite plain and do not have exceptional looks in the conventional sense.

If they are asked did you get your money's worth when you bought your car many persons will say they did. Some may qualify that a bit if they are not as satisfied as they hoped to be, and some others may say that in fact they got more than their money's worth. Of course if you were to ask them to show how, of the huge number of dollars that they paid for the car each individual dollar has contributed to their satisfaction they would find it a tough question to answer. A car is treated as a whole and you cannot think of it as a set of small parts bought for a dollar each.

People often regard the car as a part of the family. They give it a name and a personality and when it gets them home safe after a long drive they thank it for its reliable performance. And on the rare occasion that it has a slip up the car is mildly admonished as well. And ultimately when an old car is replaced with a new one it is with a heavy heart of the owners that the good old car passes into history. Yet for all the similarity to being a family member, a car is not quite like other family members.

When a person's name is called you remember that person but it may not be the face of the person that comes to your mind every time. If it is, for example, a famous tennis star you may see a visual of the tennis star stroking a cross court winner instead of the face of the star flashing before your eyes. If it is a Hollywood movie star you may hear the voice of the star rendering a famous line instead of the face showing up first. In general what people are good at becomes their memory and in a sense their calling card. And therefore if you need a great calling card you should have something great that others can remember you by.

We weigh the options very carefully when we are choosing the car we want to buy. It is our hard earned money that we are going to spend and we want to make as certain as we possibly can that the money is well spent and that we will get great value from the car that we buy.

There is an attraction to a very new product when we first open it and have it before our eyes. And as the moments tick by the attraction remains but we get caught up in other things and though for the first few days you can still feel the pull of the original attraction, but thereafter the newness starts to wane and the attraction starts to diminish.

There is something about the car that sets it apart from most of our other possessions. For one thing it seems like a live being to us, complete with a personality thrown in. And then it is able to mimic several other products we own and competes with them for our affections. So it competes with our home because the car is your home away from home.

Though at times we are really challenged to come up with a lot of money to spare after our essential expenses, we do manage to have some left over often. And though spending wisely and being conservative with our finances is a great thing, we also must look to enjoy the life we lead rather than get tied down to the essentials and let life become a bit of a burden. So the urge to splurge is quite a good thing because it brings back fun and enjoyment and gets you recharged to face the challenges ahead. Of course you have to manage your urge to splurge so that for one thing you do not spend more than you can really afford to and two that you spend on something that gives you lasting value.

There is a great thrill in taking your car to the limits of its performance capability. However with most thrilling experiences comes the risk of mishaps and unfortunate events. Therefore whenever a thrill ride is planned in an amusement park, first and foremost the safety aspect of the ride is worked out and only when the safety is established that the ride can have the thrilling features that draw in the crowds. Similarly if you enjoy the high speed capability of your car then you must make sure its control systems can keep up and the car handles well at high speeds.

Although cars have become better and better over the decades thanks to a large amount of money being poured into technological research, but ever since mas production of cars was famously started by Henry Ford cars have largely remained a mass produced product with not much customization being done for the individual buyer. What that means for you a car buyer is that the car that you bought has been made with all the features which give value that is appreciated by a large number of buyers but features that are liked by only a niche market will probably not be there.

Your car faithfully performs its function for you day in and day out. You rely on it completely and use it without thinking much about the car or its parts. It gives back much more than it costs to you acquire, maintain and use your car. And that is why cars are one of the most popular engineering product worldwide and why a lot of people treat their car as a member of the family and shower it with love and affection.

When you see a tennis star going about winning match after match you will feel that the tennis star has a great career because the stars earns a sizable sum of money and seems to enjoy every moment of it. Of course the tennis star would have put in a lot of hard work to get to this level but once you are there the ability of mixing work with pleasure is certainly a big plus.

There are many things that contribute to a life of luxury. High quality products some of which maybe custom made are one such contributing factor. But merely having high quality products does not make for true high luxury. For a truly great level of luxury you should also need to have a choice of great options. Take for example an ice cream parlor that delights the children who love visiting it. The fact that it has some great ice cream flavors is just part of the appeal. The true luxury lies in the wide choice a child enjoys when the child enters the parlor. And the wider the choice the more delighted the child will be.

It is said nothing lasts forever. And yet we enjoy a lot of constants in our lives. And it is only for a few things that we bother to check even once a month whether it is in good condition or not. We use many products each day and each product has many components working inside and yet for most we take it for granted that they will simply keep working. And when they don't and there is a break down we call up the experts and they take care of things for us.

When a car is standing still and if it is one of those high performance desirable cars such as a Mitsubishi Eclipse you get a sense that it is like a caged beast and the moment the ignition is turned on it will roar to life and announce to the world the power and prowess it possesses.

When you consider the fact that automobiles have been around for more than a hundred years you will expect the product to have got highly refined. And further you may feel that any more refinement will only be marginal and cars going forward will be pretty similar to the cars of today. But that is not going to be the case. The car manufacturing industry knows it can never rest because if it does so people will have no incentive to buy new cars. Old cars will be used for much longer and people will replace them only when their performance drops a lot and not when they see an exciting new car which is the case today.

There is a limit to which a manufacturer can customize the product for you. There are many reasons for this one being that the product is made for the masses and not for individuals. It may be that some customization may be possible but usually this is minor. Unless the product is very expensive and allows for major modifications to be made after knowing the customer's preferences one has to pretty much simply accept the product as made by the manufacturer.
