Croatia, driving Croatia anyway, is forever linked in my mind with the beautiful turquoise waters of the Adriatic Sea. That was how we first saw it.... driving for a couple of long leisurely days down the Dalmatian Coast. The country's official name is the Republic of Croatia. It's another of the republics that came out of the breakup of the former state of Yugoslavia for those of you old enough to remember that. (I always liked geography, but you really have to stay on top of changes sometimes.)

Article about Turopolje describes charming lowlands around Zagreb and its southern fringes . There is no doubt of the potential tourism has in that region. Etno heritage, customs, music, monuments combined with commercial offerings, new shops and malls and some rather amazing nature.

The Istria is the biggest peninsula within the warm Adriatic Sea in the middle of the Gulf of Trieste and Kvarner Bay. Istria can be described as a province of Croatia, boarded by Slovenia together with Italy. It has Mediterranean weather conditions, coupled with the effect of the sea water. Across the eastern coastline of the Istrian peninsula lies Rabac and Labin, that are two little towns. They perform as amazing holiday destination. Rabac is usually labeled as "The Pearl around the Kvarner Bay", due to the pride of white pebble beaches and the beautiful panorama, which is stretching through the sea-coast and gains tourists from various parts of the planet.

The national park with the hard to pronounce name in Croatia.... Plitvicka National Park, or Plitvice Lakes in English, is definitely worth a visit. The waterfalls in this national park look like they must have been concocted by some sort of mad scientist, but no... it was just Mother Nature at her best. You'll wonder at the incredible blues and greens and the water falling everywhere in every direction... little trickles of water, wide waterfalls, tall falls, short falls, twisting falls, waterfalls inside rocks.... and bubbling streams connecting everything.

Too long overshadowed by neighbouring Italy across the Adriatic, Croatia has quickly become one of the most prominent resorts in the Mediterranean region and has become the focus of some of the finest tailor made holidays that Europe has to offer. The beautiful historical cities of Split and Dubrovnik can claim responsibility for much of this appeal and are revered for the attractiveness of their settings and the richness of their heritage. Those seeking luxury hotels in a region that rewards fresh exploration need look no further.

Say‚ 'Croatia', and many travelers might respond, 'Dubrovnik', but the capital is Zagreb, and it' a great little city in its own right. This capital city is often ignored by tourists as they make a beeline for the beautiful Dalmatian Coast to see Dubrovnik and Split, but visiting the capital will give you a more rounded view of Croatian culture. It's a large city... a little less than 1,000,000, but it seems pretty low key.

With its pristine secluded beaches, historic towns, and unique villages, Croatian coast has been a popular spot for vacationing since the mid nineteenth century. And since it is important for a good image of tourism to be projected, Dalmatia and Istria tourist facilities are strictly regulated by the Tourist Board. You will find that accommodations, including apartment rentals, are spacious and well maintained.
