Sometimes it is cool to forget just how coupled we are to Earth and her charming beings. Occasionally, a remarkable experience reminds me how wholly we are all coupled. Last month, my companion and I attended a class in Las Vegas. We intended some beyond time before, and after the tutorial to do a little exploring.

The fact is dolphins cannot actually sleep because they need to be conscious to breathe. Instead of going into a deep sleep where they would suffocate themselves, they often left half of their brain sleep at one time and then the other half at another time. In this way, dolphins are able to “sleep” about eight hours per day. Here are more interesting facts about dolphins.

In America today, there are states that are actively pushing pet owners to be controlled by law. States such as California are enacting laws in which pet owners are forced to spay or neuter their pets. This is something that many are talking about as the answer to the pet over population problems. Is this truly the answer? Many prominent breeders are upset by this attempt to control the rights of individual pet lovers.

It probably began in the past when man began to understand the beauty of animals. Coupled with his power over them, he probably decided that he wanted to have the beautiful animals that he had encountered on his hunting trips to be near him. Through the centuries, man has domesticated quite a few animals to serve his needs, and sometimes to serve no need at all.

Dolphins are mammals, like whales and porpoises which are adapted to living in the sea. They may live in the sea but they have no gills, so they come to the surface for air to provide the oxygen that their bodies need.

A lot of people consider dolphins to be one amongst the fish - as they swim in the water. But in reality unlike fish who lay eggs, dolphins are warm-blooded mammals that give birth to baby dolphins and breathe air. There are many more unique characteristics that make dolphins an interesting creature on the earth.
