At present, there has been a new kind of technology that has been presented to the public. It is an anti-drunk driving technology and has been foreseen to become a major factor to help out reduce the high number of deaths and injuries caused by the results drunk driving.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) was founded in 1980 by Candy Lightner, whose daughter was tragically killed by a drunk driver who was a repeat offender. The goal of MADD was to reduce drunk driving traffic fatalities and the organization has been highly effective in raising public disapproval of drunk driving.

A survey was currently done by the Century Council and the study was mainly focused on the important things the public needs to know about repeat drunk drivers. When these repeat drunk drivers were asked what would "definitely make me stop drinking and driving", the Century Council was able to actually spot three main actions that these people have disclosed during the survey.

For far too long, drunk driving in South Africa has largely been ignored by the authorities and has claimed literally thousands of lives of both drivers and pedestrians over the years. This season, however, the powers-to-be have beefed up their presence on the roads with positively resounding results – the casualties on South African roads have virtually halved.

The true costs of driving drunk may be higher than many people realize.

A dangerous trend that takes lives, invites stiff fines, punishment and penalties. An officer can charge you under the DUI laws if you violate traffic rules. The violations may range weaving, swerving, and drifting to braking erratically.

The penalty for driving or attempting to drive whilst over the limit is a minimum 12 months driving ban, a fine of up to £5,000 and a possible maximum of 6 months' imprisonment. There is almost nothing that a drunk driving solicitor can do to prevent a driving ban in this situation.

Drinking and driving is not only dangerous for the other guy but also the driver and the passengers of the car itself. "A Nation Without Drunk Driving." This is a symposium that will be sponsored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving, or known as MADD as part of the International DUI (meaning Driving Under the Influence) Technology Symposium that would be held on the 19th and the 20th of this month in Albuquerque, Canada. During this symposium, the latest innovations to help out lessen the number of drunk drivers would be showcased. The list would include alcohol-detecting sensors and anklet devices.
