Dyslexia is a specific learning disability and is concerned with writing and reading. Most children learn to read by the age of six, but in children suffering with Dyslexia there is a delay at which the child begins to read, sometimes they are still unable to read even in the second grade.

Developmental Disability includes Autism, Asperger's, PDD-NOS and other diagnoses. Developmental Delay includes ADHD, Learning Disability, Dyslexia, and more. Then there is Global Developmental Disorder and Auditory Processing Disorder, and I don't know where they fit in the official structure of diagnostic labels, but I know they are a developmental issue.

Dyscalculia is a lesser known but a specific learning disability associated with difficulties in Mathematics. These difficulties normally vary from individual to individual. Reading problems associated with Dyslexia correspond to mathematical problems associated with Dyscalculia. Individuals who suffer from Dyscalculia are of normal intelligence.

I was privileged enough to recently attend a brief introduction to Paul Smiths forthcoming attractions hosted by one of his Australian representatives. We are all equipped with self-development skills. The only difference is that not all of us choose to make the most of them, which is actually very unfortunate. The moment you start thinking that you're the best is the moment when somebody else steals the crown from you. Why? Because that person continually updates himself or herself. It's only a matter of time before he or she surpasses you.

Every child is unique in their own way, and it is unreasonable to expect that all kids will have the same learning and grasping power. While some are quick in their learning process, some face reading problems initially due to many internal and external factors. The main thing to do here is to be patient with the child, and adopt new methods to help them come to speed with the other children.

Currently, there are no known causes for learning disabilities.
