The United States' Presidential election in 2008 is one not to be forgotten. No longer does the typical White man last stand in the United States' succession line of presidents, this election showed that democracy does persist in the country. From this election, the first African American president, President Barack Obama, is born. And to make matters interesting, the results then had showed that his toughest contender was Hillary Clinton, the first woman to make it through into a major party for the elections. Presidential candidate of 2008, Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton, is no figure to mess with. This strong character was the first woman to be nominated in major presidential elections. It was a tight call between the current President Barack Obama during the final elections, making her the 67th United States Secretary of State under the Obama administrations at the age of 61. She was also a former First Lady as she is married to former president Bill Clinton, who is the 42nd President of the United States. Also adding to her powerful resume, she was a former Senator for New York. Politicians are everywhere once more. They're on television, radio, billboards, the Internet and on the streets going around the country promoting their team and themselves. His '9/11 campaign' seems to have ensured Rudy Giuliani's position at the top of opinion polls for the most likely Republican candidate for Presidentship in the 2008 elections. September 11 apart, Giuliani has other things going for him. His term as mayor of New York is notable for ridding the city of crime.
