When you mention heart disease, usually you think of it as a single condition, yet there are actually quite a few different types of heart disease which you can develop...

The technical medical names for a wide number of circulatory ill health problems which can occur as side effects to root canal therapy are endocarditis, myocarditis, pericarditis, heart block, aortitis, angina pectoris, phlebitis, arteriosclerosis, hyper and hypotension, anemia, leukopenia, leukocystosis.

As recently as 1986, the Mayo Clinic Health Letter stated that infective endocaditis which involves the interior lining of the heart's pumping chamgers and valves is mainly caused by the germ called streptococcus viridans. These are the very same family of bacteria that Dr. Price found to be most often present in infected teeth.

Not only should these foci sources be repeatedly considered by heart disease patients and their doctors, but also by the average person, for the oral cavity environment is a daily possible source of bacteria which can threaten body organs or tissues.

"Infected teeth may contain, in additon to microorganisms, toxic substances which produce very profound effects upon experimental animals and which tend to prepare the tissues of the host, at least in some cases, for a more ready invasion by the organisms growing in that tooth."

We are all aware that organisms which produce disease vary greatly in the amount and severity of their virulence. Because teeth are relatively small,it is also generally believed that when a tooth has a properly treated root canal filling,it is impossible for an infection therefrom to overwhelm the patient.

A heart murmur is a whooshing sound between the beats that a doctor hears through a stethoscope. The whoosh is just an extra noise that the blood makes as it flows through the heart. Doctors usually discover murmurs during regular checkups or when kids see the doctor because they're sick. Normal heart sounds are called S1 and S2. They are the "lubb-dupp" sounds that are thought of as the heartbeat.

Dental Research Specialist Dr. Weston Price, after observing many patients with crippling degenerative diseases not responding to treatment, suspected infected root canal-filled teeth to be the cause.

Giardia is an infection of the small intestine caused by a protozoa. It is usually asymptomatic in humans but may produce abdominal cramps, diarrhea, and nausea. The species that infects humans and causes diarrhea is Giardia lamblia. The genus Giardia that may be parasitic in the intestines of vertebrates including most domestic animals.

There are several health symptoms that we often ignore. The early detection of these symptoms and their corresponding treatment may help us actually save our own lives.

Staphylococcus is group of bacteria, familiarly known as Staph (pronounced "staff"), that can cause a multitude of diseases as a result of infection of various tissues of the body. Staph bacteria can cause illness not only directly by infection (such as in the skin), but also indirectly by producing toxins responsible for food poisoning and toxic shock syndrome. Staph-related illness can range from mild and requiring no treatment to severe and potentially fatal.

An ultrasound test is a radiology technique, which uses high- frequency sound waves to produce images of the organs and structures of the body. The sound waves are sent through body tissues with a device called a transducer. The transducer is placed directly on top of the skin, which has a gel applied to the surface. The sound waves that are sent by the transducer through the body are then reflected by internal structures as "echoes."

Quite often Price referred to the high number of "rheumatic group lesions" which resulted from dental infections. That terminology produced some confusion as it placed extreme emphasis on rheumatism and arthritis.

A statement I made earlier in this book, Root Canal Cover-Up exposed! Many Illnesses Result, is most likely causing some of my dental colleagues to bitterly resent the charge that our profession has unknowingly been responsible for the deaths of many of our patients.

African horse sickness is a potentially fatal, untreatable illness of equines, and cases are being found further north with global warming. If a case of this notifiable disease were to be found in the UK, we may find a foot and mouth-type slaughter situation occurring among our equines. Read on for more information!

Because dentists construct dentures which look and act so much like natural teeth, people have come to believe that they are just as good as their own. While dentures are among the best of all body replacement parts, they are never as good at masticating food as natural teeth in good repair.

The most successful determining medicaments and germicidal rinses-those which prevented bacteremias to the highest degree - were summarized and reported by I.B. Bander,D.D.S. and Steve Montgomery,D.D.S., in the Journal of Endodontics.

Nutrition - Hunger Any machine we use is dependent upon fuel to operate. Likewise,well-being is dependent on the nature, quantity, and quality of the foods people consume. However,it is increasingly clear the average person thinks that whatever is put into the body through the mouth will adequately feed the body.

Although it sounds sinister, periodontal disease is really just the scientific name for gum disease. But make no mistake about it, gum disease is sinister and it can lead to tissue loss, teeth falling out, and even infections within the heart itself.
