Flexible fuel vehicles are just like an average car in the sense that they use a single gas tank. But it can run on a mixture of gasoline and alcohol based fuel. Any car made after 1988 can run on a mixture of 10 per cent ethanol and 90 per cent gasoline. A flexible fuel vehicle can run on a mixture of up to 85 per cent ethanol. Modifications are needed for this ratio as alcohol based fuels are corrosive.

Due to the crazy rise of fuel price and the instability of the fuel market more and more people and trying all kind of alternative fuels, some people are just fed up with spending all their hard earned money to some countries that change the fuel price, usually with reasons that have almost nothing to do with fuel production cost.

Dwindling oil reserves; volatility of world oil prices coupled with problems of supply and dependence; and the urgent need for alternative, renewable, and eco-friendly fuels. The Ford Motor Company is currently exerting much effort in promoting ethanol as a new source of alternative fuel. They are currently the leader in bringing back and keeping ethanol as a fuel source. Ethanol is indeed one of the more rational sources of fuel for it is very much renewable compared to gas.

With gasoline prices rising higher and higher, with no relief in sight, consumers are becoming more aware of and more interested in alternative fuel sources. One of those viable fuel sources is E85 ethanol. These days, there is quite a bit of talk about this fuel, and why shouldn't there be? After all, it costs close to thirty five percent less than gasoline and is quickly becoming a preferred choice for motorists at the pump stations.

As gas prices continue to surge higher and higher and concern over our country's reliance on foreign oil grows more serious by the day, many experts are pointing to ethanol as a quick and easy solution to the current energy crisis. This article takes a look at Ethanol as the new source of gas and the opportunities it presents.

Biofuel production is being ramped up the world over, but at what cost? Replacing petrol with ethanol from food crops is a poorly thought out short term strategy. However, being able to make fuel from plant cellulose could truly be a key to a greener future for the whole world.

You can't do much about gas prices, but you can still save at the pump. Not a bundle of money, but perhaps two or three dollars per fill up. While this may not sound like a lot of money it does add up to as much as $200 per year or more, depending on your driving habits. Who doesn't want to save at the pump? You know that you do.

However, not all ethanol products are designed to be used as a kind of gasoline. The International Energy Agency (IEA) tells us that ethanol could comprise up to 10 percent of the world's usable gasoline by 2025, and up to 30 percent by 2050. Today, the percentage figure is two percent.
