Most of you must already know that the data you save on your computer is being practically stored on media like magnetic disks, hard disks, RAID configurations of hard disks. Data can also ve stored on , floppy disks, tapes, CDs, DVDs and other types of media.

The people around the world are experiencing a huge change in their lifestyles. Many of the things that were once a dream are becoming reality and each passing day brings with it the news of a new invention. The development of the technology is going at such a pace that upgrades of the developed machines are coming out thick and fast and it takes only a few months for a new upgrade to be available in the market.

Few years back, we never really imagined how memory storage would evolve into flash cards we know today. It is ever harder to believe that the tiny rectangular piece of plastic could store thousands of pictures, hundreds of songs, and even movies. Remember few years ago when storing files could mean we have to settle for 3.5" and the outrageously large 5.25"? You know what I mean right? Those we have thought the future of memory storage- the floppy disks?

When I first read this topic name I didn't want to touch it with a ten foot pole! After all what the heck is dvd player software? My dvd player doesn't have any place to put floppy disks or cd-ROMs and I have never seen that advertised in the store or on TV (And for me if it aint on TV it aint real).
