In Genesis God tests Abraham's faith by telling him to offer up his son Isaac as a sacrifice (Gen 22:1-19). Abraham was faithful and God intervened at the last moment. This is a story most of us are familiar with and you might have noticed a similarity between this event and what God does through His own Son in the New Testament. In both events a father is offering up his only son as a sacrifice for others.
Genesis is a rock band having the honor of performing with huge success through the 1970s, 1980s, and the 1990s. The band is recognized as one of the most successful rock bands during these decades. Only the Rolling Stones and the Kinks could match the stature of Genesis. International fame Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins used the band as their launch pad.
After receiving some fantastic promises when he was 75, when Abraham was 86 years old, Hagar, Sarah's Egyptian maidservant and Abraham's second wife, gave birth to Ishmael.
