The swordtail comes from the Xiphophorus helleri group. The molly however does not have a swordtail, rather a larger fin, known as the dorsal. The proper care and cleaning of your aquarium is the most important, yet most overlooked aspect of owning an aquarium. By following a daily, weekly and monthly care program, you will maintain a beautiful, clean and healthy aquarium.

A fish aquarium is only as much beautiful as the fish that you place in it. That is the reason why you must spend a lot of time and thought into selecting the right kind of fish. The basic thing to be kept in mind here is that fish are living creatures too, and they are as delicate as babies. There are many conditions in their surroundings that they need for their proper growth, and you have to ensure to make them available to them. The talent of an aquarist is not in the beauty of the tank he or she has designed, but it lies in the kinds of fish that are placed in the tank.

Of late, more and more people have come to know about the benefits of fish oil on their overall health. But, there are very few people who are curious to know about the side effects of fish oil. All the hype about the benefits of the fish oil and fish oil supplements have build up a favorable notion about the dietary supplements and hence, a few people discuss about its adverse effect on our health.

Aquarium ornaments aren't there to add any benefits to the fish, they are just for you to add some decoration in the tank. You can have all sorts of ornaments, big or small, traditional or caricature, simple or even complicated.

Check out the health conditions of the fish carefully. If you are observant enough, you can check out both visible and intrinsic health conditions of the fish. First, you must observe the body of the fish. Pay attention to the scales and the fins. The scales should be shiny and smooth, while the fins should not have any cuts or nicks. If there is some fuzzy growth on the body of the fish, it is better left alone. Also check the areas under the eyes for any telltale health signs. Some fish would not 'look' ill, but they might have internal conditions. You can tell that if a fish is either too sluggish and spends most time at the bottom of the tank, or if it is hyperactive and keeps darting everywhere in the tank in a sort of frenzy.
