Fabric hammocks provide the ultimate leisure and relaxation while swinging under the summer sun. Unlike a rope hammock, these hammocks are made of a solid piece of fabric and you need not worry about your arms or legs slipping through the holes. Especially they are much safer for your children. Besides, you don’t even have to bother about getting rope-face or any other indentations of a rope hammock on your face after a good summer’s nap.

If you want to spend your vacation in the warm rays of the sun at the beach, you will surely need a portable hammock to make your outdoor activities more fun and hassle-free. They are very easy and convenient to set up and work as a comfortable alternative for campers. They also provide the best resting option while you take a refreshing sunbath. These portable hammocks are also very useful if you want to sway in the breeze in your backyard while reading your favorite book.

There is no better way to enjoy a summer day than relaxing in a hammock. Hammocks have been around for a long time, and because of this, so have some of the companies that make them. One of the more established hammock companies in the country today is Algoma Net Company out of Algoma, Wisconsin, where all of their products are made in the USA.

We usually associate hammocks with relaxing in the backyard on a lazy Sunday afternoon. While they're certainly great for that, hammocks can also be a valuable tool for therapy in children and adults with Sensory Processing Disorders. People with proprioceptive dysfunction, tactile defensiveness, Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD), Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Asperger's and excessive energy levels will all benefit from the calming "all-body hug" hammocks provide.

A couple of summers ago I had the opportunity to be a camp leader at a week long girl's camp that our church holds every summer. It was my oldest daughters 4th year going to camp, so I was excited to go along and share the camp experience with her. But I was not looking forward to sharing a tent with other leaders whom I did not know very well. But luckily we owned a couple of camping hammocks, so I took one of those along to use instead. I had never actually slept in one before, so it was a totally new experience for me. Here are some pros and cons that I discovered while using camping hammocks that summer.

Camping hammocks are sweet! The first time I used one was a few years ago up in the Bitterroot Mountains about 2 hours outside of Lewiston, Idaho. I was along with my son's Boy Scout troop for a 3 day adventure. We hiked about 8 miles the first day, but didn't make it to our planned camp site. When it started getting dark and everyone was feeling tired, sore, and worn out from a long day on the trail, we decided to just set up camp at a wide spot along the trail. The boys started unpacking their tents, fighting with poles, tarps and the rest of the traditional paraphernalia.
