Located on the North and South Fork of Long Island the area known as the Hamptons is one of the most popular vacation spots in New York. The Hamptons has a deep rich history that goes back to the 1600's. Like many other New England colonies it was originally farmland, over the years it port of trade, Revolutionary War staging point, refuge for artists and poets, and favorite vacation spot. The Hamptons make up one of Long Island's more scenic areas; this, in addition to its relatively low population during most of the year, has made it a popular area for filmmakers. Some feature films you may have seen that were shot in the Hamptons include two Woody Allen films, Annie Hall and Mighty Aphrodite; other popular movies filmed in the Hamptons were She Devil, Something's Gotta Give and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Having originally settled in the Massachusetts Bay Colony about twenty years earlier, Thomas Halsey was among the founders of Southampton; his home is the oldest English-style house still standing in the state of New York. The preeminent show of the 1990's decade, Seinfeld grew from an idea of "a show about nothing" into a sacred pop culture icon, not that there's anything wrong with that... The show follows the life of comedian Jerry Seinfeld and the exploits of his "short, quirky, bald guy" best friend, George Costanza (Jason Alexander), Jerry's neurotic neighbor Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards), and Jerry's ex-girlfriend Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus). The Blog!
Blogs. What are they? Why are they everywhere you look?
Most simply put, blogs are like journals-only, instead of being made of the paper and cardboard, you have them online and they bring traffic. Hollywood: Right in the thick of the movie action, stars still consider Hollywood Hills the number one choice for a home in California. The roads are narrow and winding – not very tour bus friendly, thus making a home in the Hills quite private with stunning views (when the smog isn't bad). Just ask the likes of Bruce Willis, Charlize Theron, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake. We've entered the Twilight Zone when it comes to the multitude of diets being promoted today. Starting with the Atkins Diet, then the South Beach Diet, now the Hamptons Diet and more. All higher in protein, lower in carbs, but the dissimilarity should be quality of carbs, not singling out one nutrient entirely.

Scott Fitzgeral or Cole Porter. What is interesting is that those whose work brought them into contact with socialites often did not express a great deal of admiration for them. It's worth noting however, that unlike the socialites with whom they associated, Fitzgerald, Porter and Berlin all had brilliant, creative careers in which they produced works of lasting value, making significant contributions to American culture - and this may be one of the secrets to true happiness and contentment. If you're looking to take a trip back in time, to the dawn of the cowboy and the rise of working cattle ranches, visit one of the nation's oldest cattle ranches. If you were to say to someone in Maine that you were taking the ferry to Long Island to visit public gardens, they would look at you and think, "What public gardens?" They would conjure up images of an outpost in Casco Bay populated by people who fish for a living and have little time to garden, and by summer residents who might have a small vegetable garden, flower bed or hedgerow of rugosa rose. But public gardens? There are none to be found. How much food in a day is too much? Am I overweight? What is my body fat content?
