Honda introduced the Prelude in 1979. It was the company's first attempt to build a car that would be exciting but also at the same time hold true to Honda's core values of intelligent design and reliability. Over the years the car has become the leading performance car in Honda's lineup. Even though the car had a powerful engine it was not designed to be a muscle car. Its main aims were to provide for good handling and ease of driving while having enough power to retain a competitive edge.
