In India there is a very vital season known as the marriage season. When this season arrives we come to know about our relatives and friends getting married. In every marriage season I personally attend minimum four to five marriages. Last week my cousin got married with the boy of her choice. I attended her marriage with my family and involved myself in every ceremony of her marriage. The music was full on, everyone was dancing but there was something missing.

Though, every religion has its own ways in which their marriage ceremonies are performed, but there are few laws termed as marriage laws in India, which needs to be followed by each and every married couple to get the legal tag of being married in India. There are certain marriage laws in India which are common to all religions and the Indian bride and the groom need to follow those in order to certify themselves as the married Indian couple.

There is a proper procedure, which the Indian bride and the groom have to follow to practise court marriage for their wedding. There are different acts for the marriage in India, which according to the type marriage are commenced by the court and the individuals. The two main acts for Indian marriages are Hindu Marriage Act 1955, and Special Marriage Act 1954.

In India, marriage is one of the biggest events in a person's life. It marks the beginning of a new season. Marriage is essential for every person in India; at least this is the feeling of many. It is not a simple event. An Indian marriage stands out from the rest. This is essentially because many marriages in India are arranged. Just like you have no choice of the place you were born, marriage can work well when arranged and, more and more Indian couples continue to prove this to be so.

A wedding is a wonderful even in anyone's life as it brings the joy and happiness with the union of souls and also group of people and culture. Wedding in India is also considered to be very holy occasion as it is considered that marriages are made in heaven and even God blesses people on the wedding day.

Many Indian brides, before their marriage also observes fasts, to pray for a good husband, many girls also fast on karwachauths, before marriage. This is something which is neither believed nor practised in the foreign countries, there brides do not follow the culture of fasting for their husband's long age, and they believe all these rituals as part of superstition, whereas Indians show firm believe in fasting.

Grooms of India are known to be the best future supporting husbands for their wives. All across the world, Indian grooms are tagged as the best husbands, due to the level of understanding shown by them. Indian weddings are full of traditions and cultures, rituals and practices, all of which continue even after the marriage. One always talks about the importance of brides in the marriage, but if we see, grooms play an equally important role in marriages.

Indian weddings are elaborate affairs, full of various rituals and customs inherited over a long period of time. All these rituals have their own significance. Most of the Indian marriages have three phases like pre, main-day and post-wedding ceremonies. Owing to its elaborate nature; the planning for this day needs great care and attention so that the couples and their families can enjoy the nuptials.

The reformed and modernised approach of the Indian brides and grooms these days, have lead to the construction of many innovative ideas for practising marriage ceremonies. These new ideologies can be seen implemented in the recent marriages in India.

There are many factors, which signify and mark an Indian woman as married, some of them are, mangalsootra, choora, bangles, sindoor, etc. But out of all these sindoor is a mark, which has been worn by the Indian women from ages. Sindoor, a red mark on the forehead of the Indian bride is one of the most significant features which differentiate a married Indian bride from an unmarried Indian girl.

Commitment is the other name to marriage. Especially, in Indian marriages, the bond of marriage is long lasting based on the essence of love and commitment. While taking the vows of marriage, the bride and the groom promises to be with each other, that is they make a commitment to be with each other for the life time.

India is a wonderful country with countless rituals and traditions and Indian weddings are not an exception. There are a good number of Indian wedding rituals and traditions to solemnize the sacred bonds of marriage. Indian marriages are amazing occasions for eating, feasting and merry-making.

The most important element of the Indian wedding is the songs. The Indian songs are very much popular all over the world; they are the beats and the tunes on which every participant of the wedding dances. There are different ceremonies in an Indian wedding and one can find number of songs corresponding to the situations of the ceremonies and the rituals.

Marriage has always been considered as the most sacred bond, which a person shares with his better half. This is the only relation, which binds a couple for the rest of their lives. In fact, in a Hindu religion, it is the bond which the bride and groom shares for seven lives. An Indian marriage, in whichever religion is celebrated is the biggest occasion for both the families of the couple.

Wedding is a sanctified bond that allows an engaged couple to accept responsibilities of each other throughout their life. Traditions of weddings diverge between religions, countries, societies and cultures. In India, being a multi-cultural nation, the marriage rituals are different within various sects and religions, but the values of love, concern, emotion and commitment remain the same. Weddings in India are the great concoction of traditional morals and celebrations.

Indian Wedding traditions unlike other weddings are full of verve, ethnicity and brilliance. The wedding traditions in India vary on account of language, geographical differences, caste and religion. As compared to the weddings on the foreign lands, Indian weddings don't happen by gathering just the family members and close friends, but the list of guests keep on increasing till the day of marriage. For this reason, many people appear strangers to both the bride and the groom.
