A new cell transplantation technique is being used by researchers in order to repair the cells that produce insulin in patients with type 1 diabetes. The study, presented this week at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America, shows that the procedure is minimally invasive and with few complications.

Describes insulin function, types of insulin and the factors that cause type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance.

How do you get Diabetes?

There are two main types of diabetes mellitus. These are known as type 1 and type 2.

Type 1 diabetes mellitus used to be called insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, or juvenile-onset diabetes mellitus, because it usually begins in childhood or adolescence.

Insulin is required by the cells of the body in order for them to remove and use glucose from the blood. Coconut oil improves insulin secretion and utilization of blood glucose. Coconuts and coconut oil have a lower potassium / higher sodium ratio, which helps sustain higher blood sugar levels.

How serious is Diabetes?

Very! The early symptoms of untreated diabetes mellitus are related to the elevated blood glucose levels. Excess glucose in the blood ultimately results in high levels of glucose being present in the urine (glucosuria). This increases the urine output, which leads to dehydration and increased thirst. Other symptoms include extreme tiredness, weight loss, blurred vision, itchy skin and repeated minor infections such as thrush and boils.

Results from the body's failure to produce insulin, the hormone that unlocks the cells of the body, allowing glucose to enter and fuel them. It is estimated that 5-10 per cent of Americans who are diagnosed with diabetes have type 1 diabetes.

Since 1990s stem cells are used in many treatments. Nowadays for hair regeneration, hair loss stem cell therapy is proving to be a good technique.

We take our cellular structure for granted. Within us are trillions of intelligent cells, that work constantly for us, keeping us healthy as best they can. If we want to change character tendencies or habits, we have to enlist the help of these marvelous helpers.

The main research revolving around adult stem cells is that they have the ability to divide and self-renew indefinitely. This means that with the right research, adult stem cells could be used for all sorts of things. They are already more than valuable in research, particularly those which have cures that seem to be far away and hard to find. The adult stem cell, which has the ability to become any other type of cell in the body, might just be the greatest link between what is known about the human body, and what is not – and it might be the thing that helps researchers create a better life for all.

Oncogenes (cancer genes), tumor suppressor genes and gene mutations function mainly in the cell cycle - in cell division and proliferation, but they are not involved in the invasiveness of breast cancer. There are several other factors that contribute to breast cancer invasion.

The number of people around the world suffering from diabetes has skyrocketed in the last two decades, from 30 million to 230 million, claiming millions of lives and severely taxing the ability of health care systemsto deal with the epidemic, according to data released Saturday by the International Diabetes Federation.

When solar cells first came on the scene in the 1950s, they were simple. Now, there are a wide variety of cells and more are coming as technology improves.

Neuropilin-1 (Nrp-1) was recently identified as a possible surface marker for naturally occurring CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells and is constitutively expressed on the cell irrespective of its activation status.

Multiple myeloma is a cancer of your plasma cells. Plasma cells are a type of white blood cell present in your bone marrow - the soft, blood-producing tissue that fills in the center of most of your bones. The exact cause of multiple myeloma isn't known.

Although multiple myeloma may not cause symptoms early in the disease, it's likely that you'll experience symptoms as the disease progresses.

There are two types of diabetes, and they really are two quite different diseases. In type 1, or insulin-dependent diabetes, insulin injections are needed. But in type 2, or non-insulin-dependent diabetes, most people can keep their condition under control with just diet and medication. This type of diabetes is actually much more common than the insulin-dependent type.

Cord blood, also known as placental blood, is the blood that remains in umbilical cord and placenta following a live birth. There are 3 sources of stem cells: umbilical cord blood, embryonic cells and bone marrow. Adult stem cells from bone marrow have limited uses while embryonic stem cell research is a major area of controversy.

A stem cell is a primitive type of cell that can be coaxed into developing into most of the 220 types of cells found in the human body.

Breast cancer can spread to any part of your body through the blood and lymphatic system. The metastasis of breast cancer cells is what makes the disease very dangerous. Metastatis means the cancer cells have traveled from the place of origin, i.e. the breast, to other parts of the body.

This article looks at Adult Stem Cells, how they differ from Embryonic Stem Cells and what they can do to help your body regenerate and repair.

Cancer is a disease that affects cells of the body. Cells are extremely small units that build together and form all living things, which include human beings. In any given person's body, you will find billions of cells.
