The ancient Japanese martial art of jujutsu was developed to fight bare handed against armed and armored opponents during Samurai days. This technique depended on balance and leverage to use the opponent's momentum against himself and throw him off balance.

Punching with your fists and kicking with your feet come naturally when untrained fighters fight with each other. Add a few other tactics such as elbowing, kneeing, biting and head butting, and you have a complete fighting routine. After a summer of quiet trading and a gentle easing of its market capitalization, Astral Mining Corporation (TSX.V: AST) has had a jump-start in both its valuation and volume. The jump, not surprisingly was the result of strong results from Jumping Josephine.

Astral Mining on Oct. 18 released a report on the ongoing Phase II drilling program at its Jumping Josephine gold prospect in southern British Columbia. Astral's on-site geotechnical team has sampled JJ Main Zone quartz stockwork over more than 540 meters of strike and down to a maximum depth of 152 m, diamond drilling a total length of some 3,333 m. Management expects that a minimum 12 more holes will be drilled during the Phase II program before calling it quits for the season.

This year, the summer doldrums in the resource sector were anything but dull for the boys at Kootenay Gold (TSXV: KTN). With drills turning at Jumping Josephine (BC), Promontorio (Mexico) and Connor Creek (BC), autumn is proving to be a harvest season of results and new announcements by the company and its various JV partners.
