When your car cruises down the road at top speed it has a lot of kinetic energy. This kinetic energy is so much that unless it is reduced in a controlled manner it can smash the car up completely. If you have ever seen a car crash test video you will have some idea of the immense amount of energy that a moving car posses. Now that should make you wonder that when you apply the brakes where does all that energy go? After all you can slow down and even stop the car with your brakes and the car doesn't even get a scratch leave alone getting smashed up.

When the hurtling mass of a car is brought to a halt in a few seconds by the car brakes it is the accomplishment of an immense task. One may think it is more difficult to make the car to start and accelerate than to stop but if you have any ridden a bicycle without brakes you will know how difficult it is to convert the kinetic energy of the moving bicycle to heat energy.

Flying a helicopter is a challenge for most pilots simply because helicopters struggle with opposing forces in order to keep itself airborne. As such, there is a need to ensure the safety of helicopter flights using proper energy management. Energy management can help the helicopter fly safely in case of engine failure and prevent it from rising to unusual altitudes.

Dry ice blasting is a process used for cleaning the equipment in many industries. There are several technical aspects and three major factors which allow the whole process to take part. In this article we will exemplify and try to explain each of them.

The faster an object travels the higher is its momentum and the greater is its kinetic energy. That may sound very much out of a school science book but it is true nevertheless. And one doesn't need to know that the greater the energy the greater is the need to control the energy so that a mishap doesn't occur. Yet at the same time from experience one will know that if there is a lot of energy concentrated in a single entity it can be hard to control. Take for example a horse that is bucking or one those bulls that cowboys ride.

These days of economic crunch, many of us are looking for avenues to save on utility bills. And many are exploring with renewable energy for homes. Building your own home wind generators or wind turbines is a viable alternative energy source. How wind generators work is totally dependant on the free natural resource of the wind which forces the blades on the wind turbines to spin thereby producing kinetic energy to be converted into electricity to power you home. Excess energy is stored in batteries to be used as and when required.

Today, the main source of power comes from fossil fuels such as petroleum, kerosene, coal, natural gas and propane. We also use nuclear substance like Uranium which helps to generate power.

There are times when we enjoy uncertainty. Like when we are watching a slap stick comedy and the hero has a custard pie thrown to his face out of the blue. And there are times when uncertainty is not liked by us at all. Like when we are faced with a tight situation while driving and need to stop our car quickly.

One of these is solar power. Solar power is driven by photovoltaic cells, and these are progressively getting less expensive and more advanced. Solar energy power can be used for electricity, heating, and making hot water. Solar energy produces no pollution, as its input comes completely from the sun's rays. However, much more work still needs to be done in order for us to economically harness the sun's energy. For the time being, the resource is a little too conditional-storage batteries are needed to be used as backups in the evenings and on inclement days.

There are three basic ways to tap the ocean for its energy. We can use the ocean's waves, we can use the ocean's high and low tides, or we can use temperature differences in the water.

A pump is a device used to move fluids, such as fluids or slurries. Centrifugal pump is a device for moving liquids and gases. The two major parts of the device are the impeller (a wheel with vanes) and the circular pump casing around it. In the most common type, called the volute centrifugal pump, fluid enters the pump at high speed near the centre of the rotating impeller and is thrown against the casing by the vanes. The centrifugal pressure forces the fluid through an opening in the casing. This outlet widens progressively in a spiral fashion, which reduces the speed of the fluid and thereby increases pressure. Centrifugal pumps produce a continuous flow of fluid.

The Ford Motor Company has received more than 30,000 orders and has already distributed about 9,000 individual units of the Ford S-MAX in selected areas in Europe. The S-MAX is the very first vehicle to feature Ford's innovative "kinetic design" styling, which Ford engineers describe as "expressing energy in motion".

The equipment used in archery has improved significantly since medieval times. While primitive bows were not very accurate, today's bows can accurately launch arrows at speeds over 148 miles (240 kilometers) per hour. Today's bows are a combination of wood, fiberglass, lightweight metals, and high-technology materials. Historically from early childhood children were provided with bows according to their height and are taught to shoot.

The star performers are those who deliver when it is crunch time, that is when the pressure to perform is very high and the situation hangs in balance. At such a time the outcome depends on the star performer's effort and the outcome can be quite seriously bad if the star performer does not deliver. In a movie at such a time the hero delivers the telling blow and saves the day and justifies his billing. But in real life it is not that there are always happy endings.

When you talk to lay persons about a car's performance the topics usually are about the acceleration, the top speed, the handling at high speeds and such. However if you listen to the commentary during automobile races you will often hear the commentator commenting on the condition of the cars brakes and the need to use them prudently to win the race. And it does happen that a race is lost because the brakes could not survive the punishing routine.

Ford's got fresh philosophy dubbed as kinetic design - and it is imbibed in all-new Mondeo, a huge family car. Mondeo will be stripped at the 2007 Paris Auto Show to flaunt brand new style and car excitement.

The most exact definition of Solar Energy is plainly - "the energy from the sun". It is a term used to classify the electromagnetic radiation emitted by the sun and intercepted by the Earth. It is the world's most permanent and reliable source of energy and the most copious.
