  • Change Without Resistance - Seeing change as a problem In a previous article, I examined why problem solving, which is our conventional approach to change, is instrumental in creating resistance and slowing or neutralising attempts to create change. Briefly, the reasons are as follows: * The focus of problem solving is usually on the 'gap', and the present problem/s and rarely is enough emphasis placed upon creating shared clarity about the destination. * The emphasis on deficiencies tends to have a disempowering effect - 'I can see that's the problem but I'm not sure I can change'. * This in turn creates defensiveness - 'Why should I change?' because it becomes easier to knock down the change than to admit we can't.
  • An Effective Leadership And Its Functions - Good leaders are made and not born. If you have the wish and willpower, you could become an effective leader. Good leaders develop by a never ending process of self-study, training, education and experience. This guide would help you through that process. To motivate your workers into upper levels of teamwork, there are certain things you should know, and, do. These do not come as you would expect, but are acquired by continual work and study. Good leaders are repeatedly working and are studying to develop their leadership skills; they are not resting on their laurels. Before we get started with it, let us define leadership first.
  • Manage Them Out the Door - You are reading this because you’re in a position of leadership. You may have some people working for you who are not quite cutting it. So, you have three options: live with them, get rid them, or help them. Said differently, you can surrender and do nothing, you can “manage” them out the door, or you can lead them to success. Let’s look at each choice more closely. 1) Live with them; do nothing - The devil you know is better than the devil you don’t, or so the cliché goes. Let’s face it;
  • Changing Careers: Which Career Path Should You Take - Consultant or Corporate Executive? - Every time the economy expands or dips, executives who are tired, bored, displaced, or in search of above-market earnings come out of the barn in droves looking for "greener pastures". They frequently assume that their experiences running a "real" company qualify them to provide insight and expertise as a consultant to other companies. Meanwhile, consultants looking for financial stability have thoughts of going corporate.
  • Every Failure Is An Opportunity In Disguise - As much as we would all love to live an easy life with endless resources and finances, most people might admit that life would be pretty monotonous if there were no obstacles or failures. Evidence of this might be seen by watching the celebrity gossip television programs, where the rich and famous of Hollywood seem to bounce from one crisis to another, seemingly bored of living the good life. How many times have you watch such stories in the news, and thought what you would do to benefit humanity if you could have their vast resources of wealth, power and influence. How many times have you been puzzled when trying to understand their mindset? Success begotten without any hard labor or without crossing any insurmountable barrier is hardly remembered even by the most successful people.
  • Integrity First: Living the Honor Code in Business - Integrity First. It's core value #1 of the U.S. Air Force... embraced by our leadership, taught in our training programs, and a symbol of the commitment and character of the men and women serving our country. I learned a valuable lesson about the true meaning of integrity after only serving several years in the Air Force. It wasn't on a combat mission flying an F-16. It was during a training sortie I flew as a brand new instructor pilot, and I learned it flying solo. It was a rare occasion for an instructor pilot to get to fly solo, but this was my lucky day and I was going to make the most of it. I had finished my maneuvers in the military operating area (MOA) and was performing my last touch and go's in the pattern before landing.

  • Inspirational Leadership - The evident quality of a leader is to be self motivated. In the plan of an organization chart there could be ineffectiveness created by a single format that could lead to the dysfunction of the entire unit. Delayed promotions, extremely long work hours and no direct reciprocation of interest seem to be the main cause of high attrition rate. A leader is there to lead, to motivate and encourage creativity. To feel inspired by someone in office means that the individual has to be credited with a very ambitious nature and also one who believes in sharing his ideas.

Great leaders have innate qualities of integrity, humility, fairness, vision, and determination. And they have the training and experience to lead with greatness. There are many well known exceptional leaders in all fields of endeavor. There are also some great ones who aren’t well known outside their own communities. I asked a number of such people what makes a good leader. Here are the remaining answers in the last of three articles on leadership. Todd Korahais, CEO of Keller-Williams Realty in Greenville, SC, believes, “There are great managers who devise and implement systems that people imitate, but that’s not leadership. The final definition of leadership is Legacy. If the leader never eyes, grooms, and develops his/her replacement(s), they never lead. They were simply imitated.
