Menopause is not a disease, but it is new phase in an older woman's life which usually causes the ovulation to cease and as a result Menopause stops. This is a natural phenomenon in life and it starts many years before menopause symptoms actually begin to show. The levels of the hormones may vary for many years before eventually becoming so little that the endometrium remains thin and does not bleed. Generally the ovaries start to slow the production of hormones like estrogen, testosterone and progesterone. The low estrogen levels may lead to changes in collagen production that may affect hair, nails, skin and tendons.

The term 'menopause' is used to define the permanent cessation or pause of the primary functions of the ovaries in a woman's body. The primary functions of the ovaries include ripening and release of ova or egg and also the production of female hormones that aid in thickening the uterine lining in order to welcome an expected pregnancy and the subsequent shedding of the uterine lining in the form of menses. Thus when menopause occurs, a woman no longer gets her menses every month. Menopause marks the end of a woman's reproductive or fertile phase. This transition from fertility to infertility is not abrupt but gradual.

Menopause occurs in three major stages. The whole process of menopause can take 15 years or longer, depending on your age and family history. The first stage of menopause is known as perimenopause. The first signs of menopause are irregular periods and spotting due to fluctuating hormone levels in your body. Although it is still possible to get pregnant during perimenopause as eggs may be released from your ovaries, ovulation will probably be sporadic. Perimenopause can last anywhere from 2 to 5 years, but some women can remain in this stage of menopause for up to 15 years.

Consistency to urinate frequently with less gap of time after each pass leads to frequency, which is the other name of frequent urination. Frequency leads to discomfort in one's healthy physical being. Persons suffering from diabetes (blood sugar), hematurai and certain other bacterial problem like the urinary tract infection (UTI) are responsible for frequency. In this aspect, changes in the women's menstrual cycle are also an important factor responsible for frequency.

Since every woman has to experience menopause in her life, which is not a comfortable situation of course, its basic knowledge is essential for every woman. In most of the cases, menopause brings much misery to a woman's life, including sexual activities. To make you aware of the common symptoms of menopause, this article briefly deals with the basic information of the potential troubles.

Menopause is the end of menstruation. The word comes from the Greek mens, meaning monthly, and pausis, meaning cessation. Menopause is part of a woman's natural aging process when her ovaries produce lower levels of the hormones estrogen and progesterone and when she is no longer able to become pregnant.

The condition and the symptoms of male menopause are comparable to the ones women experience and can sometimes be as worse. However male menopause does not affect all men, at least not with the same inclusion. Only some of the men between the age of forty and fifty can experience the condition and most of the symptoms of male menopause.

There are currently numerous debates in the medical community on whether menopause really exists in men. Menopause in women is defined as the time when the menstrual periods cease. Based on this, men cannot have menopause. But, as the doctors have argued, they can undergo andropause - the male equivalent of menopause in women. Male who have andropause manifest the same symptoms as those women with menopause.

Menopause is a condition most often associated with women. It occurs in a woman when she ceases to menstruate and can no longer become pregnant (usually). Men experience a different type of `menopause' or life change. It usually occurs between the ages of 45 and 60 - but sometimes as early as age 30. Unlike women, men can continue to father children, but the production of the male sex hormone (testosterone) diminishes gradually after age 40.

Menopause is a natural life process for women. It usually occurs in your early or mid-forties, and, unfortunately, it is accompanied by a number of symptoms that can be quite concerning to most women.
