Learning the piano is one of those things I feel everyone should do. Playing the piano can be one of the most fullfilling things you can do for yourself. I'm so glad I learned how to tickle the ivories at a young age. It's led to a life full of music and joy.Playing the piano can not only give you hours of enjoyment, but who knows you may find others may ask you to share your musical expertise at church, weddings, etc.

So, what's the big deal? Why does everyone suggest that you learn a bunch of music theory? Why is it always a part of your course load, even if you don't plan to be a theorist? Well, it all boils down to communication. Understanding the fundamentals of our language is useful in much the same way than an understanding of English language is useful - it allows you to communicate effectively.
