Malaria is the name given to a mosquito borne infectious disease afflicting humans. The disease is widespread in the tropical and subtropical regions where the culprit Anopheles mosquitoes thrive. The root-cause of malaria is the parasite plasmodium that is transmitted through the bites of infected mosquitoes. The main species of mosquitoes transmitting malaria are Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium knowlesi, Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium malariae and Plasmodium ovale. Of the above types, the first two are deadly while the rest three are not that serious. The parasite, after entering human body, multiplies in the liver and later infects red blood cells.

Usually intestinal parasites are caused by two major types of intestinal parasites called protozoa or helminths. Protozoa are single cell organism and it has characteristics to multiply within the body. Helminths do not multiply in human body. This means this parasite do not re infects you and usually it clear up with the proper treatment. The most common types of helminths are round worms and tapeworms.

The human body acts as a host to a large number of parasites. These parasites are in the form of roundworms and flatworms, and they are found in both adults as well as children.

Nosema is the most widespread of the adult honey bee diseases. A single celled animal named Nosema apis, a small, unicellular parasite specific to the honeybee, causes it. Nosema cannot exist in a laboratory culture, as with most bacteria and fungi. It will only thrive and multiply in the epithelial cells of the honey bee ventriculus which causes dysentery.
