Where does one begin to start when discussing Italy. Well, if you intend to travel there, Rome and Venice are good places to start.

Most people choose summer for their holiday adventures. But when it comes to Rome, a winter trip, when the city rests from its clammy, exhausting heat, is even more advisable. Sightseeing is calm and leisurely, and an evening in one of local cafes, like Tazza d'Oro by the Pantheon, is even more pleasant.

The film was already snubbed by the Vatican during filming, but with many tour companies already offering themed holidays around Rome, one thing it’s certain to do is introduce more tourists to the ancient city.

Rome is an ancient city, not an old one. So are the hotels located in Rome city centre: ancient, historical, beautiful of that beauty that comes from winning the passing of time. Old is something that used to be beautiful, but it's not anymore. Rome instead is still wondrous: more chaotic, more urban, probably more complicated, but just as breathtaking as it was two thousand years ago, or in the middle age, or in the Renaissance, or in every historic period you can think of.

Siena is a city that is located in Tuscany, Italy. The historic center of Siena has been declared as a world heritage site by UNESCO. The main influences for this decision are the Duoma, Siena's Cathedral and the Piazza del Campo. The Piazza del Campo is regarded as one of the most beautiful and breathtaking civic spaces in Europe.

Rome and Milan have beautiful historic buildings, architecture and art to connect them. But there the similarity stops as each also has their very own unique and individual style to offer a visitor. Rome is the capital city of Italy and the countries largest and most populated city. It is known by many names, amongst them Capital of the World, The Eternal City and Threshold of the Apostles.

You ordered a glass of wine and two bottles of water. The bill came to US $40. Are you shocked? Horrified? I smiled. Why did I smile rather than cringe? It was the "experience". I was immediately brought back to the people, the chatting, the smells, the feel of the warm sun on a winter's day, the sound of the Fountain of Four Rivers -- all of it, generated off a receipt for wine and bottled water.

Naples, south of Rome in the Campania region, is the third largest city in Italy and has a lot to offer to the traveler. Naples is a lot of fun, Sunny, lively, sassy and simply unforgettable. Superbly positioned on a bay, Naples has a little - and often a lot - of everything. It pulsates with noisy street markets and their colourful characters. Naples is music, theatre, Vesuvius, coffee, pizza and the sea… all those colors, sounds and aromas that capture your attention, win you over and seduce you.
