Plantar Fascia is the tight band of muscle placed beneath the arch of the foot. It is the connecting tissue which holds the arch foot and extends to the forefoot. This inflammation of plantar fascia is the main cause of pain for plantar fasciitis. It is known as one of the most common reasons for heel pain and very commonly known as heel spur. Excessive stretching of plantar fascia causes the heel pain, arch pain and heel spurs.

Prior to describing just exactly what Plantar Fasciitis is, we first need to know which part of the foot it affects. And before we do that we need to have a clear understanding of the anatomy of the foot.

Pain in heel of foot self treatment can be done at home if you are suffering from plantar fasciitis. Common causes of pain in heel of foot conditions are inflammation and/or tightness in the plantar fascia, which is the tissue on the bottom of the foot.

When there is a heel spurs at the back of the heel then there is an inflammation of the Achilles tendon (tendinitis) which causes pain and tenderness at the back of the heel. It makes the condition worse while pushing off the ball of the foot. It is associated with the inflammation of the plantar fascia (fasciitis).

Heel spur is a very painful condition which can be treated by home remedies on heel spur. It is actually a hook of bone located in the foot. Moreover, this hook of bone causes pain when a tissue in the arc of foot is inflamed. The tissue is medically recognized as plantar fascia. The home remedies on heel spur can relieve the inflammation of the tissues effectually. In addition, the condition of heel spur must not be confused with the plantar fasciitis which is other painful condition.

In a researchers report in an issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings, ready made shoe insoles did not effectively relieve foot pain among patients. This study provides convincing evidence that use of these static inserts was not effective in relieving foot pain.

This condition, known as plantar fasciitis, is frequently seen in sports persons, obese people, and pregnant women. Some other underlying medical diseases, such as osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, degenerative disorders, and poor blood circulation can also lead to the formation of spurs on the heel bone.

Bone spur usually takes place on the joints of the spine, feet, shoulders, hips, hands and knees. It is not painful but sometimes causes pain when it rubs against other bones around it. It is more common among people above 60 years of age. It is associated with spine degeneration.

Unfortunately, either solution may not be good for the feet of the child who needs a shoe fix. Most problems with our feet are caused by ill-fitting footwear, so it is important to determine what kind of feet you have, and then purchase the appropriate footwear for your foot. So much is riding on those feet that you don't want to risk them! When you are talking about foot support in sandals, one needs to refer to proper support for the average population and proper support for those with what is commonly referred to as "flat feet".
