Poems. Just the mention of them makes me smile. Why? Simple. I delight in writing and reading poetry. Some tend to think that to be a poet is not easy and that it must be those deep thinkers who can write poems. Actually all of us can be poets if we have creativity. After all poems are creations of our minds and our experiences.
Love poems have been written for centuries to inspire lovers and create romance. Which one is the most famous though? Many famous love poems are written by classical poets, such as Lord Byron, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, and Shakespeare, but the one probably seen most often quoted is from someone else.
The beginnings of Urdu poetry can be traced as far back as the 13th century, when some poets of in the north of India started experimenting with the style. But the classic form of Urdu poetry that we modern humans have come to know did not really take on a final shape until the 17th century, when Urdu became the official language of the court in the Indian subcontinent.

They range from structured, formal works such as those by William Shakespeare to free verse works by modern greats such as e.e. cummings.
