  • Presentation Skill Training - 10 Tips for Giving Powerful, Professional Presentations - In spite of the popularity of cross training, most people as a rule aren’t asked to do something totally out of their field. Yet almost everyone in a corporate or professional setting these days is expected, even required, to give presentations. Public speaking is a profession that requires training and practice just like any other. But we’re constantly being pushed to the front of the room to sell, educate, persuade, dazzle and shine. It can be scary for some and downright debilitating for others. Here are my top ten "P’s" for giving Powerful Presentations. 1.
  • Doing Interviews for Fun and Profit - For a while now I have been telling my students to create their own product. Want to know the most common objections? "I can't come up with any ideas." "I cannot write." "Thats already been done by someone." Got no idea on how to create your first product? Well, find somebody interesting and start an interview with them. That's the only thing you need to do. I'm sure you'll be able to find somebody who is an expert in their field. Get with them and write about 10-15 questions. Set a time and place; then use simple home recording devices to record the interview.
  • Corporate Storytelling 101: How To Pick A Story That Moves Listeners - Business publications these days sing the praises of corporate storytelling. But what if you're not a natural storyteller? How do you pick a tale that inspires and connects - and still suits a business setting?
  • Hardball Learning: Six Hard-Hitting Strategies for Capturing Your Listeners' Hearts and Minds - Good presenters are tough and don't apologize for it. They play hard for the win - that light bulb in the listener's eye. SELL THE BENEFIT - Identify your key points, talk about the experience those concepts bring. Ask of your content, "What does this mean to the listener's life?" If you're training on new software, it's how it enables their work to get done faster / better / easier. Use the "here's how you do X" to demonstrate. It's all about what your topic can do for the audience. THE LAW OF THREE AND ITS COROLLARY, THE RULE OF 15 - Determine the number of words in the name and title of the highest ranking attendee (Bill Smith, President = 3) and have no more than 3x that many slides.
  • Expressing You! - Bringing your Presentation to Life - Whether you are an investor, entrepreneur, employee, self-employed or unemployed the ability to present yourself and your ideas powerfully has never been more important than in today's dynamic information age. Speaking well can influence other's views, close a deal, motivate your team, enhance your business, and elevate your reputation. Many people get jitters speaking in public.
