People buy insurance, pay their premiums, and expect that insurance companies honor their commitment to policyholders. Referendum 67 simply requires the insurance industry to pay legitimate claims in a fair, reasonable, and timely manner.

Washington State Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler is standing up to the insurance industry when it comes to defending his decision to vote "Yes" on Referendum 67. Insurance companies have pumped in nearly $10 Million to defeat the pro-consumer measure up for a vote this November.

Why would the insurance industry spend $7.7 Million to defeat a measure that could conceivably give them an excuse to raise premiums and make even more money off of Washington State citizens? I smell a rat.

Recently my client Michelle Tribble was featured on CNN's cable show Anderson Cooper 360. The story addressed how insurance companies take advantage of legitimate accident victims by intentionally undercutting settlement offers and essentially forcing innocent victims to file expensive and time-consuming lawsuits just to recover their medical bills.

Palistinian President Mahmoud Abbas cleverly found a way to get a two-state resolution before the Palestinian people to move his agenda ahead while providing a way for Hamas to get off its hard-line hook.

So many marriages start off with such hope and promise. Both parties are committed to each other and vow to make it work "for better or worse". And then it is over. What went wrong?

With unemployment rates going down and companies struggling to attract and retain quality employees, employers should pay close consideration to the emphasis being put on the importance of health care by employees. We have seen several times more and more that employees are first asking about the benefits plan and then about salary. It is obvious that affordable health care is prevalent on the minds of candidates.
