Esophageal cancer and acid reflux have a close relation to each other as acid reflux is said to be the precursor of esophageal cancer. It has been found out that by limiting the incidents of acid reflux and by creating a healthy lifestyle it is possible to prevent the incidence of esophageal cancer in people. Since esophagus acts as a connecting hollow tube between stomach and mouth, acid reflux caused in the stomach can destroy the cell lining of esophagus resulting in barrett's esophagus and then causing esophageal cancer.

Just like vegetables, not all dairy products are supposed to be consumed when you have this disease. Products like sour milk, milk shake and ice cream react harshly with the acid in the body and many times you get to feel the burning sensation whenever you take them due to this reaction. So if possible, try to avoid them in order to prevent yourself from succumbing to the harmful outcomes of the condition.

If you suffer in any way from heartburn or acid reflux then here are 14 quick and easy heartburn cures for you to try.

The first explanation for the cause of this condition is that because of the incompetence of the Lower Esophageal Sphincter (LES) acidic contents of the stomach are allowed up into the esophagus, which results in a burning sensation. The LES is a valve that is found at the lower end of the esophagus and separates it from the stomach and its contents but when this valve becomes dysfunctional, it allows the acidic content of the stomach to be regurgitated into the esophagus.

Acid reflex or GERD is the condition in which the liquid content in the esophagus refluxe back into the mouth. The acid reflux comes in contact with esophagus and it can release digestive enzymes which can cause burning sensation and irritation. Esophagus is made up of a muscular tube which has a sphincter, which closes the esophagus when one takes food to prevent acidic reflux. There are three problems related to the functioning of sphincter which can cause acid reflux: poorly developed muscular tone, type and quantity of liquid and the ability of the esophagus muscles to cleanse the bottom of the tube.

Continuous unexplained crying is another signal that acid may be back flowing from the baby's stomach to its upper body part mainly the throat. As the acid is refluxing, more harm than good is being done to the baby's tender tissues due to the corrosive nature of it. This brings about suffering and consequently the baby turns into whining and crying.Don't always be quick to ignore the baby whenever it is crying because you might come to regret your actions later on when enough damage has already been done.
