Hillary Clinton, long famously popular among Democrats but obsessively excoriated by Republicans, has decided to turn the tables on her opponents by becoming one of them. In an interview, Senator Clinton told us, "There's an old political axiom that you never spend any time trying to get the votes you already have. So I decided I didn't have to spend anymore time as a Democrat."

His '9/11 campaign' seems to have ensured Rudy Giuliani's position at the top of opinion polls for the most likely Republican candidate for Presidentship in the 2008 elections. September 11 apart, Giuliani has other things going for him. His term as mayor of New York is notable for ridding the city of crime.

Fred Thompson, the Republican candidate running in the 2008 elections, has been endorsed by the National Right to Life Committee. This may seem surprising to those who have been following Thompson's record on issues such as, abortion, the proposed human life amendment, or Terri Schiavo.

In order to answer the question, Are Republicans Thugs?, it'll take coming to grips with the fact that the Republican Party is not the same party one's grandparents voted for.

The Senate, fresh from its rancorous but indecisive debate on a constitutional amendment that would have banned same-sex marriage, has now taken up debate on an amendment that would ban regular marriage.

A leading Republican senator stated, "When you consider how high the divorce rate is, you know there are a lot of unhappy marriages out there between men and women. I'm not sure continuing to allow them is in the national interest."

Given the current state of America's feelings about the comeuppances of the Republican tenure, there is actually some likelihood that the dedicated duo could once again be frolicking in the realms of Presidential empowerment. While Democrats cheer, Republicans may double over with wails of dread and reach for Rudy.

Many have several thoughts on Sarah Palin. I personally admire the woman for a few reasons. She’s married with five children, the youngest of which is challenged, but yet is able to maintain a high profile career. She’s also family focused with a good head on her shoulder, and could possibly be this country’s next Vice President.

It is possible that Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani has infuriated his Democratic rivals to the point of distraction. As a good Republican Giuliani should be pro life but he is pro choice. Only Democrats are supposed to be pro choice. Giuliani is now under searing attack from every Democrat and flaming left-wing Democratic news organization worthy of the name.

Ron Paul is probably best known for his strict adherence to the Constitution in voting and staunch stances on personal liberty, privacy, trade, and firearms. Although he is pro trade and political relations with other nations he leans much further toward isolation with his views on leaving NAFTA, the UN, and the ICC. In all, Ron Paul could be considered more libertarian as a candidate than other republican candidates.

On the 1st of April 1939 the Spanish Civil War ended. During three years of warfare the elected Republican government had fought the forces of General Franco and the German and Italian units sent by Hitler and Mussolini to aid him. In the absence of help from Britain and France, the Republic had been forced to turn to the Soviet Union for aid, Stalin's price being greatly enhanced power for the small Spanish Communist party.
