The current age of retirement for women in the UK is 60, whereas the current retirement age for men is 65. However, the retirement age limit increased from 2010, so that by 2020, it will be 66 years. A study shows that 26 per cent of women retiring this year will have an annual income of less than ‘£10,000 when they stop working. On the other hand, only 12 per cent of men retiring this year will have to live on less than ‘£10,000 in a year.

Retiring soon? Most people view retirement as a time for a leisurely lifestyle, with walks by the beach or in the park. However, the reality is not always so rosy. Retirement does not occur just like that. It can only occur with proper financial planning. Retirement and financial planning have to go together.

When somebody has done something good, it is right to provide him or her some rewards. For all the hardships and continuous service to the community, a worker is entitled to all the required benefits in exchange for all the services that he or she has done.
