If I ask you what you did this year and you say, "Let's see: I did ten tasks, every day for 200 working days, so I did 2,000 things," then you're completely worthless in adding value to the business. At the end of the day, network marketing is a business; and to succeed in business you have to follow through. To build a network, you need to focus on other people, and you need to believe in yourself. Would you say that in order to be successful, to do what you want to do, you have to associate with unlucky people? No. Just the opposite. As we look at all the luck that we have experienced in our lives, and remember all the lucky people that we have been privileged to associate with and learn from, it appears that there are some key principles used by all the lucky people we know. Most people believe that the secret to time management is doing more things in less time. This is simply not true. The secret to time management is doing fewer things! What is the one vital thing that will maximize your results if you get it done with quality, consistency and speed? Problems tend to rise up the ladder at work. So, the higher you are up the totem pole, the more problems and crises come your way. Learn to deal with them effectively. All you need is within you. You were not made for failure here. You have unbelievable resources inside you, if you find them and learn to use them. I love this concept, because every person working in a business needs to be focused on a WOW over the course of the year. It is something meaningful, something that makes a difference to your business.
When it comes to luck, the real message is "Be prepared!" It's not just finding the opportunity; you have to be prepared to seize it. What is the traditional approach for trying to get focused in business? It is the Pareto principle, commonly called the 80/20 rule, meaning that 20 percent of the effort or activity is always responsible for 80 percent of the results. Does it pay to do more with less and focus more? A change in focus can always make a difference. Focus is the key to your profits! Focus is the only reliable predictor of future profitability! Stop wallowing in negativity and giving problems more weight than they deserve. Make life what you want it to be! Write a new story! Luck favors the prepared. Part of your preparation is writing down your goals. Writing down goals and ideas is spiritual law. The real challenge is that we have all been incorrectly conditioned and trained to believe that the most important thing in business is the opportunity. However, if you try to make use of all the opportunities that show up, you lose all focus. In my experience with building businesses, I know that within days, literally, of starting a business that business starts to lose focus. I've learned through all the years of creating more than 35 companies and working in 35 countries that focus is the only challenge in business. Many organizations measure success in terms of numbers. What you need to do is figure out which numbers are important, which ones you can impact, and how you are going to do it. Sometimes we think of this word in terms of our personal associations, the building of our relationships; but there is another way of associating. It is associating with your mind. We've looked at the power of the opportunity story in network marketing. Now let's look at other crucial piece of the puzzle - the product story. Each of us knows at least 250 people that we don't even know that we know. So, even if you don't know enough people to make you wealthy, the people you know know enough people!
