Scrap metal would rarely feature upon anyone's top list of conversation starters. Nevertheless, as a business, it is as exciting and certainly as profitable as any other, provided you know what you're doing.

Trading scrap metal is like trading any other commodity. Buy low, sell high and make your fortune. The difference with scrap metal is that people will often pay you to take it off their hands, despite the fact that you eventually trade it on at a profit - a win/win situation.

One man's waste is another man's treasure. Whoever said that is completely right, especially when it comes to the scrap trade.

The environment is something of a hot topic at the moment, with growing pressures both politically and socially to act up to our responsibilities to the planet and its ongoing conservation.

The environment is the most precious asset we possess, greater than any economy or business. Without it, the world as we know it could not possibly exist, and as we speak our environment is changing beyond recognition before our very eyes.

Trading scrap metal might not sound like the most glamorous of vocations, but many a fortune has been built on the back of other people's throwaway matter.

There are many reasons why someone would want to get in to the scrap metal market. For one, it is widely considered to be a much more stable alternative to investing in stocks and shares, given that prices tend not to fluctuate as wildly in the scrap metal industry.

Due to the growing need for plastic bags and containers in places such as grocery stores and retail stores, plastic is now one of the most used materials in today's society.

Day trading is the practice of buying and selling commodities over the course of one day to take into account fluctuations of prices over the course of trading.

Foundation training is very important in training the Tire Jump. Practice all angles and many distances sending to and coming from the tire.

When it comes to recycling doing a little can help a lot. As limited resources become more limited, and as the impact of waste places a bigger burden on the environment, the time for action is now.

When you first buy your car (especially if you buy it brand new from a car dealership), you were probably head over heels in love with it. And like all lovers, you probably tended your car with all the love and attention your wife would have wanted but that you couldn't give her (because she's not a car, to put it simply).

Be very careful if you are considering changing your vehicle's stock size. Using an inappropriate tire size could make your vehicle unsafe. Before switching tire sizes, try using an online tire size calculator to help keep your vehicle safe.

The Tire Jump seems like a relatively easy agility obstacle, at least from a persons perspective, but in the Novice Agility ring you see many dogs that refuse to go through it, many go under it, while others choose to go around it. How can you prepare your beginning agility for success with the Tire Jump?

The truth behind car tires is that too little or too much air in it could make your vehicle run more on gas. It could also make some of your GM vehicle's parts run askew. That is why it is important that air inside the tires is just right.

There has never been a better time than now to get involved in the trade and investment in metals. As the old saying goes, one man's junk is another man's treasure.

The biking experts say that it is common for a front tire to outlast a rear tire by as much as three to one. Driving forces and weight wear the rear tire down quickly through usage. Some times rear tires on road-bikes and especially on mountain bikes have a tendency to wear down quicker than the front tires. To get a little more life out of your tires, you can rotate them around once or you can put the front tire on the back and then just buy a new tire for the front.

Although they rarely garner the type of media attention that vehicle emissions receive, used tires are among the most widespread and problematic sources of waste and pollution in the world. The United States Environmental Protection Agency reported in 2003 that 290 million scrap tires were generated throughout the world. Of those 290 million tires, only 45 million (15 per cent) were re-used for new tires called 're-treads.' The remaining 85 per cent of used tires are spread among landfills and other recycling methods.

If you're business is involved in the buying and selling of scrap metal, you will be well aware of the advantages of recycling scrap, and the cost implications that follow. Additionally, scrap recycling is an environmentally friendly way of obtaining the scrap you require, which can be tremendously beneficial in terms of promoting a positive image to your clients. It is easy to see, given these major benefits, why recycling scrap metal is becoming more fashionable, and indeed more profitable.

The scrap metal business is tough for dealers and agents. When they order scrap for clients they have to wait around one month before it arrives and only then can they charge the client. However, they have to complete payment for the stock before the order is sent out, which means that they are only limited to selling as much value as they currently have as their cash balance on their ledger account.
