The process for hiring a freelance screenwriter is similar to hiring a freelance writer for other genres of writing. Although the writing processes are vastly different, very similar precautions should be taken for both scenarios.

Almost everyone thinks they know how to write a screenplay. Weve all heard someone watching TV saying I could write better script than that!

The term screenplay refers to the script for a feature-length movie. There was a time when all feature length movies were released into movie theaters. That time is now past. With the development of first video and then DVDs, and the emergence of major chain store video rentals, any number of feature-length movies bypass theaters entirely, and are released straight to DVD.

Let's face it, writing a screenplay can be tough. It's a daunting task. Especially if you've never written one before. The truth is, you probably can ... if you'd just "get yourself" out of the way.

One of the best date films of 2005, In Her Shoes is a dramatic relationship comedy that doesn't take itself too seriously. Directed by Curtis Hanson, the hand behind such films as 8 Mile (2002), LA Confidential (1997), and The Hand That Rocks The Cradle (1992), the film is successful in a genre where so many of its peers have miserably failed.
