Screenwriting is a competitive trade. To distinguish yourself as a prize-winning writer you need to master organizational skills, take creative risks, and learn how best to present your final product.

Arguably the best comedy of 2004, Meet The Fockers is a hilarious, humor-filled marathon. Screenwriters Greg Glienna and Mary Ruth Clarke (who should have received Oscars for their flawless penmanship of Meet The Parents) turn in another blockbuster manuscript. But, as with its predecessor, Meet The Fockers wouldn't be the comedy masterpiece it is without the onscreen chemistry of Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro.

How many different styles and types of entertainment industry jobs are there? There are the cruise ship singers, the piano lounge singers, the so-accused Chippendale and Karaoke performers and many more...

In order to ascertain the list of best movies ever, it is quite a task at hand. Since everyone has his or her opinion on what qualifies and quantifies as the best, movie makers seek various methods to propel their productions to the A list. Other than having well-recognized faces on board to form the cast and crew, a great movie theme song is also an essential ingredient. Even though people may forget the storyline and faces, a great song is there to stay in the mind. By humming a few familiar bars, the viewer is automatically transported to a certain point in his memory bank. This is why movies employ moving songs to tickle the ears and hearts, thus gaining themselves a foothold in the viewer's list of favorites.

After a year on Match, Violet accepted a date from a guy she'd only e-mailed a few times. My friend has a love of camping and a fear of blue foods - just like her date - making this "almost-blind-date" seem like a good idea.

Many aspiring authors have a personal story to tell that they feel is worthy of a memoir, but they recognize that they lack the professional writing skills to create a marketable manuscript. Here are some tips on finding and working with a stranger who can help you write the most personal of books.

Let's face it, writing a screenplay can be tough. It's a daunting task. Especially if you've never written one before. I'm sure you've been stuck in a darkened theater watching a less than stellar movie and said to yourself, "I can do better than that!" The truth is, you probably can ... if you'd just "get yourself" out of the way.

Nouns and verbs are the backbone of any sentence, and thus of all writing. Here's an explanation, with examples, of why you should use strong nouns and verbs in your writing instead of loading it with adjectives and adverbs.

Some movie watchers are quite slow when it comes to the uptake that is implied by Bring It On; so is the case with Sydney White too thanks to the fact that not all people are accustomed to read between the lines even if they are dealing with a cheap teen movie. Some of them cannot even realize the direct reference that is made in the title of this movie. Sydney can actually be very misleading thanks to her appearance and her dwarfs who, in this particular case look quite similar to the modern nerds.

When it comes to The Simpsons, longevity is an asset few can ignore. 18 years old and counting, the TV series has carved its niche into pop culture. Most of today's high school students hadn't been born when The Simpsons debuted as filler on Tracey Ullman's variety show. It's no longer as fresh, as acerbic, and as popular as it once was, but could one expect anything else from a show that has turned out about 400 twenty-two minute episodes?

It took an inordinately long time for movie land to bring us a modern day treasure hunt worth watching, but Director Jon Turteltaub delivered big time in National Treasure, the story of a secret treasure that crosses the centuries. National Treasure is full of obscure clues. National Treasure stays focused on the clues with the actors not upstaging the treasure hunt story line.

I've written, directed, and produced two full-length urban features, CONSIGNMENT and IN WITH THIEVES, plus have a third feature in production titled STASH SPOT.

Some people feel that when you attach the word urban to an independent film the story will be based on slices of life that unfold in housing projects or the barrio. Which do provide rich and colorful backdrops that reflect a slice of americana.

On the flip side urban culture has moved beyond the housing projects and barrios. Taking those attitudes and feelings into new environments.
