This belief system is chiefly connected to Japan due to location of its adherents as well as the historical dimensions of its progression. The faith encourages the acknowledgement of Kami or spirits. The process started off around 100 BCE and that's the time when Japan was being founded as a state. The practices of Shinto religion are animistic in character.

Origami is the Japanese art of paperfolding. "Ori" is the Japanese word for folding and "kami" is the Japanese word for paper. That is how origami acquired its name. However, origami did not begin in Japan. It started in China in the 1 o 2 century and then spread to Japan sometime during the sixth century. The objetive of this art is to modify a flat sheet of material into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques, and as such the use of trims or glue are not contemplated to be origami.

In the creation myths of the world there is always a time of darkness before the birth of the human race and, within this darkness, an undifferentiated oneness where all is God and everything is one. There are no human beings, only God-beings, or rather, aspects of God waiting to be born - if a unified consciousness can have aspects at all.

We know little about the origins of the Ninja, the 'children of darkness' - mysterious shadow-warriors who maintained their eerie mist-shrouded mountain secrecy in the Iga and Koga Provinces of Japan from around 900 AD, practicing the arts of stealth and invisibility. Legends, however, tell of the Ninja warrior's supposed descent from tengu, savage demons that were half man half crow and were able to bend the laws of nature and control the human mind.
