This natural barrier is impaired in atopic eczema making people of all ages who have this skin complaint more vulnerable to certain bacterial and viral skin infections, particularly Staphylococcus aureus and Herpes simplex. Staphylococcus aureus (Staph aureus) is a bacterium. There are about 30 different species of Staphylococcus, many of which live harmlessly on the skin's surface. However, Staph aureus is a potential pathogen or 'bad guy' which can cause several skin problems including folliculitis (a spotty rash due to infection of the hair follicles), boils and abscesses.

Staphylococcus is group of bacteria, familiarly known as Staph (pronounced "staff"), that can cause a multitude of diseases as a result of infection of various tissues of the body. Staph bacteria can cause illness not only directly by infection (such as in the skin), but also indirectly by producing toxins responsible for food poisoning and toxic shock syndrome. Staph-related illness can range from mild and requiring no treatment to severe and potentially fatal.

Heat rash is the problem associated with hot and humid water. Upsurge of bacteria can make the problem worse. Keeping the body at room temperature away from humid climate is the best way for prevention from heat rashes. Prickly heat powders, topical or oral antibiotics also help in the treatment of this problem.

Boils are localized tender, inflamed, pus-filled swellings in the skin surrounded by large red areas. They are infections of the hair follicles of the skin. They are quite painful, particularly in areas where the skin is closely attached to the underlying tissues, such as the nose, ears, or fingers. They usually occur in teenagers and young adults. The common sites for boils are the face, neck, and thighs.

Many people incorrectly believe that TSS only affects women, when in fact it can affect anyone - men, women and children. TSS has occurred in all races, although most cases have been reported from North America and Europe.

A sty (sometimes spelled stye) is a tender, painful red bump located at the base of an eyelash or under or inside the eyelid. The medical term for a sty is hordeolum (plural, hordeola).

Toxic shock syndrome (TSS) is characterized by sudden onset of fever, chills, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle aches and rash. It can rapidly progress to severe and intractable hypotension and multisystem dysfunction. Desquamation, particularly on the palms and soles can occur 1-2 weeks after onset of the illness.

Boils may appear on the face, back, buttocks, armpits or in the groin area; anywhere where there are hair follicles and sweat or irritation such as friction can occur. The most direct cause of boils in the intrusion of bacteria into and under the skin, but other factors may increase susceptibility. For example, people who have compromised immunity may be more vulnerable. In addition, diabetes, poor health and clothes that chafe the skin may increase the likelihood prednisone. of a boil forming (Mayo Clinic).

Food poisoning is caused by eating organisms or toxins present in food or drinks. Staphylococcus or E. coli is one of the commonest bacteria which results in food poisoning. Due to improper handling, this kind of a contamination happens. Even though it is a very common condition it can get worse depending on the degree of contamination.

There are two essential oils included in the perfect skin care treatment: Coleus forskohlii oil and Tetrahydropipertine. Streptococcal toxic-shock syndrome is defined group A streptococcal infection. It is associated with the early onset of shock and organ failure.

Tea Tree Oil (a key ingredient in Zap It!) has significant antiseptic properties to fight against the majority of skin infections. It can also impede rashes caused by parasites and insects. It stops the itching and calms the inflammation normally associated with eczema, psoriasis and topical skin flares. But, the very best thing about tea tree oil is that if you have an unidentified area of pimples, patch testing with diluted tea tree or a good quality tea tree cream on a small area will not hurt it and it may well go on to cure it.

Abscess is a collection of pus. Pus is a thick fluid that usually contains white blood cells, dead tissue and bacteria (germs). The usual cause of an abscess is an infection with bacteria. Certain bacteria are more likely to be 'pus forming' as they make toxins (chemicals) that can damage the body's tissues. These include: Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes. The infection causes the immune system to activate white blood cells and chemicals to fight the bacteria. In this 'battle' some tissue dies.

A Boil can be defined in two manners, external and internal.; Externally, the boil presents itself as a swelling in the skin, which protrudes upon the surface layer.; Surrounding such protruded swelling is a fairly significant reddened area.; Internally, the consistency that leads to such expansion, in the form of swelling, is a combination of a cluster-like concentration of localized deceased skin cells and pus, which leads to excessive inflammation
