A small kingdom Zanskar is located between the Indus valley and the northern Himalayan range. The place is over three thousand square miles which is surrounded and entangled in many mountain ridges. Therefore it is not easily reachable as the snow clad mountain passes makes it more difficult. The kingdom is naturally fortified from all sides and one can see many Buddhist monasteries in that region, several isolated but picturesque villages and meet the ever cheerful zanskar inhabitants.
