"Tulum Hotel" Articles

  • Tulum: Mexico’s Best Kept Secret - Coming from a far away country, it was such a surprise to find the Mexican countryside and coast: a refresher from the busy city in which I spend my days. One experience took us deep into the Mayan Riviera near the town of Tulum. It’s a semi-unknown wonderland where white sand beaches oddly appear to be deserted: the perfect cure to a lifetime of honking horns and fast-paced city life. Old men selling mangoes and chilies by the side of the road along with one-dollar beers that just seem to taste so much better when they’re consumed on the spot. My first trip to Mexico was years back when I visited Tulum on more or less a whim.
  • Learning Spanish in Mexico - I had originally figured the act of immersing myself in Mexico would teach me Spanish through the process of osmosis; an involuntary movement of information from people who know something in the direction of those who don’t. I figured the step would be relatively easy considering I’d be surrounded by Mexicans and the Latin way of life, which I envisioned symbolized by a nice array of chilies and sombreros; the type you might see in the lobby of a Mexican restaurant. But upon arriving in Tulum and checking in a Tulum hotel, Mexico and being rendered speechless for approximately six weeks, my fantasies were proven just that, unrealistic.
  • Tulum Anonymous - To think that a year ago I was walking the streets of Manhattan is amazing. To leave the Greatest City on Earth for some beach in Tulum, Mexico. It is an odd thought at times and something I tackle with daily. Here I was, living in NYC. I had an amazing apartment with a few of my best friends from college.
  • Tulum during the Day - Located just 78 miles south of Cancun, Tulum is one of Mexico's most popular destinations on the Yucatan Peninsula. Visitors can treat themselves to the ancient Mayan Ruins of the Quintana Roo Coast or take a stroll down Tulum Beach and melt in the beauty of some of Mexico's finest white sand beaches and crystal clear water.
