As the fires subsided in San Diego, people have found that even though the smoke has gone away, the smoke odor has not. It was embedded in the carpet, on the walls, in the upholstered furniture and in the drapes. Retail clothing stores found that the smoke had permeated their whole inventory and that the odor needed to be removed before the clothing could be sold. Here is how you do it...

One of the most alarming disasters in recent times was the raging wildfire that swept through Southern California in the autumn of 2007. In the end, there was over a billion dollars in damages - damages that do not even include the hundreds if not thousands of homes that were left with serious smoke odors following these wildfires. If you are one of these unfortunate people who has found his or her self dealing with smoke odors in the wildfire aftermath, you may be wondering what solutions are available to you today.

If you are like many, many business owners in Southern California today, you may be trying to deal with the problem of smoke odors. In the aftermath of the horrible wildfires of this year, many area businesses ended up plagued with serious smoke odors.

There should be a correct way to landscape the property to prevent any cause of wildfire in the area. There are instances when wildfire strikes without your being aware that it will occur. If the area you lived in was subject to earthquakes, insect infestation and wildfires, and you could live in a type of housing that could withstand all those perils, why wouldn't you? Concrete homes have an amazing resistance to all of the above and are commonly used in Florida and other hurricane ridden locations, but their popularity hasn't spread to the west coast.

As heart-breaking as it was to watch so many homes lost to the fury of wildfires in Southern California, it was even harder when I realized that many animals and pets were left behind during the evacuation process.

Aviation has been and will always be one of the greatest breakthroughs in technological development. Aviation has been the backbone of many industries and has played key roles too for many years.

If recent news events have taught us anything, it is that we should be prepared for everything. The earthquakes in Japan, rashes of unprecedented tornadoes in the southeastern United States, massive flooding in the Midwest and rampant wildfires in the western United States change lives in an instant. Many people stock up on food and water supplies, but few of them consider that injury and even illness is as much of a threat following a natural disaster (or act of terrorism) than starvation.

Some emergencies are universal. Storms can create flooding and lightning damage in most areas of the country. Human error can cause fire and other crises. In other cases, there are natural disasters that are likely to be faced only in certain parts of the country. If you live in an area of the country susceptible to specific types of natural disasters, you should ensure that you, your family, and your home are prepared to those problems.

A campaign using text messages to raise money for the Red Cross has tallied more than $21 million for relief efforts in Haiti. The releasing of gaseous substances into air is known as environment emissions as a result of combustion, manufacturing, and natural waste and other processes. Environment emissions are now regarded as a matter of conscious as they are classified as greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases absorb and emit radiation within the thermal infrared range and contribute to the increasing of the heating of the earth. Because of these the climate of the earth is changing. Water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone are the main greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere.

Hollywood: Right in the thick of the movie action, stars still consider Hollywood Hills the number one choice for a home in California. The roads are narrow and winding – not very tour bus friendly, thus making a home in the Hills quite private with stunning views (when the smog isn't bad). Just ask the likes of Bruce Willis, Charlize Theron, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake.
