I think that jerks just happen to also possess several attractive qualities that are so powerful that that they literally make women blind to the abuse... women will rationalize and excuse the abusive behavior because they are so attracted to these other qualities.

Those who have control and power can inflict emotional abuse. It is as bad as physical abuse.

No matter what anyone says, verbal abuse is still abuse. Sadly, people are all too ready to dismiss it as if it were nothing; hence, there aren't enough discussions on how to stop verbal abuse. But when somebody calls you names or screams at you for no apparent reason, that's abuse. When a person bullies you at work or taunts you incessantly, that's abuse.

Spousal abuse symptoms and signs... Spousal abuse is very dehumanizing, sometimes you wake feeling like you have to "walk on eggshells" to keep your partner from getting angry and are frightened by his temper. From my experience in this kind of problem it certainly can be very hard to deal with them. Women especially live with a lot of denial and they do not understand that the more they hold spousal abuse prone husband, the more the chances of more dangerous events happening in their lives becomes inevitable.

Children who witnesses domestic violence against his or her parent is a victim of domestic violence as well. Approximately five million children witness domestic violence in their homes each year. A child may be a witness to his or her parent being emotionally abused, physically abused, economically abused and/or even sexually abused.

It is a misconception that only women suffer from abuse at the hands of men. Men too suffer from domestic violence and there is no much difference between how men and women experience the ordeal. If you are a man who goes through abuse, don't feel like you are the only one.
